The Zenith Chronomaster Original Paris Edition with Verdigris Dial
Parisian architecture gives the Chronomaster Original a fresh, new green shade, while Zenith's new clasp makes the bracelet much easier to wear every day.
Paris is the inspiration behind this latest special edition again, but Zenith has done it differently this time. In 2024, the brand took cues from the city’s modern architecture and combined it with the sharp lines of the Defy Skyline Paris Edition. This time, however, Zenith has chosen its vintage-inspired El Primero watch, resulting in the Chronomaster Original Paris Edition. This one takes its inspiration from the older, classic side of Paris, with its verdigris copper roofs and domes that still define the skyline. To capture that vibe, Zenith has released just 50 pieces exclusively for the French market.
The head-turner here is indeed the dial, which Zenith has finished in a gradient verdigris. This is the hue of green you see on weathered copper rooftops in Paris. It starts darker at the edge and fades into a lighter centre, creating a really nice contrast against the steel case. The overlapping chronograph counters also match the dial tone. You have rhodium-plated, faceted markers and hands with Super-LumiNova, plus a date window tucked away at 4:30. It all works together to keep the dial clean while letting that unique colour really be the highlight.
Beyond the new dial, the rest of the Chronomaster Original Paris Edition sticks to what we know and love about the Chronomaster Original. It sports a 38mm stainless-steel case that closely follows the proportions of the original 1969 A386, featuring those classic pump pushers, tapered lugs, and a box-style sapphire crystal. Flip it over, and the sapphire back reveals the movement along with an “ÉDITION PARIS” engraving and your individual number out of the 50-piece run. It comes with a stainless-steel bracelet, though Zenith also includes a black nubuck leather strap if you prefer something sportier and more casual.
The Chronomaster Original Paris Edition is equipped with Zenith’s new Zenclasp folding clasp. This is designed to make the bracelet feel more secure and comfortable for daily wear. To adjust it, you just lift a small cover and make fine adjustments in 2.5mm steps, while ceramic ball components help the clasp lock into place smoothly and accurately. In practice, that means greater ease of use and better adaptability to your needs.
Under the hood sits the El Primero 3600 automatic chronograph. Running at 36,000 vibrations/hour, it measures elapsed time down to one-tenth of a second, with the central chronograph hand completing a full rotation every 10 seconds. The Zenith Chronomaster Original Paris Edition lands at EUR 11,800.
