The New TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph in TH Titanium

Material innovation with a new TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph

In 2024, TAG Heuer went back to complications and expanded the Monaco collection with a split-second chronograph in blue and racing red. Following the presentation of a bold F1 red-and-white limited edition at Watches and Wonders, we now see the fourth iteration of the concept, this time innovating through materials. Meet the all-new TH Titanium TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph, with lime green accents.

The main novelty with this new TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph is its material, named TH Titanium. This new form of titanium has been developed in-house by the TAG Heuer Lab, the Maison’s in-house R&D institute based in La Chaux-de-Fonds. According to the brand, its development required 4 years of R&D. Thanks to a proprietary thermal process, a special titanium alloy is transformed at an atomic level to reveal its hidden structure. The result is a natural, irregular pattern that shifts with light – all this while retaining titanium’s strength, resistance to corrosion and lightweight. The watch weighs just 86 grams in total.

As mentioned above, the 41mm case therefore stands out with this visually striking appearance. Just like for the previous versions of the TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph, its angular lines are enhanced by its remarkable sapphire bezel, sapphire dial and architectural movement. Lime green accents add a dynamic edge to its already bold character. The water resistance is rated at 30m.

The movement of this edgy Monaco is well-known. The automatic TH81-00 is made together with Vaucher manufacture. This high-frequency column-wheel split-second chronograph boasts a 65-hour power reserve (55 hours when the chronograph is engaged). Its oscillating weight is shaped in the TAG Heuer shield. Its hand-painted stripes are a nod to car racing.

The lime green TH Titanium TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph is presented on a black calfskin strap with a textile pattern, secured with a titanium clasp. The watch is part of the current collection, hence it is not a limited edition. It retails at CHF 145,000. For more details and information, please visit tagheuer.com.
