The New Laurent Ferrier Classic Traveller Globe Night Blue
It takes a few years – and some talent – to make a Classic.

If you’re a fan of indie watchmaker Laurent Ferrier, you’re likely familiar with the Traveller Globe Night Blue – a UK-only model first introduced in the Galet Traveller series back in 2016. This year, as the brand celebrates its 15th anniversary, it revisits its beloved dual-time watch with a fresh update, now featuring a miniature painting of the world on its emblematic dial.
The new Laurent Ferrier Classic Traveller Globe Night Blue stays true to the elegant case design of its predecessors. Crafted from polished, smooth white gold, it measures 41mm in diameter and 12.64mm thick, including the domed sapphire crystal. Signature design elements remain intact, from the distinctive “ball” crown at 3 o’clock to the oblong pushers for adjustment on the opposite side.
In addition to the 2016 edition – where an engraved white gold dial depicted oceans in translucent blue enamel and continents dusted with gold glitter – Laurent Ferrier has released several stunning variations of its Traveller series. Notable among them are the U.S. editions featuring a cloisonné enamel world map and the relatively recent Classic Traveller Meteorite, which incorporated a rare Muonionalusta fragment.
For 2025, the Laurent Ferrier Classic Traveller Globe Night Blue takes a new artistic approach, showcasing a miniature painting with the continents rendered in opaque blue enamel, enriched with delicate specks of enamelled gold. The image, crafted using the champlevé technique, covers the convex-shaped centre of the dial. The final flourish? Hand-painted gold enamel accents represent the world’s city lights glowing against the darkened oceans, as seen from space at night. The result is a handsome interplay of depth, contrast, and artistry.
The outer ring of the Laurent Ferrier Classic Traveller Globe Night Blue dial features a hand-finished circular satin-brushed surface in slate grey, drawing the eye inward and enhancing the depth. The drop-shaped indices, which seem to reach toward the globe at the centre, further emphasize this three-dimensional effect, creating a sense of movement and immersion. At 3 o’clock, a bevelled date aperture and at 9 o’clock, a second-time zone window – each slightly differing in size – maintain the dial’s harmonious balance. The signature Assegai-shaped hands, crafted in polished and curved white gold, indicate the local time, while the hours for the second time zone advance slowly on a 24-hour disc, ensuring effortless readability.
Beneath the artistry, the watch is powered by the LF230.02 automatic calibre, operating at 21,600 vibrations/hour with a 72-hour power reserve. A sapphire crystal caseback reveals the stunningly decorated movement, featuring a fully integrated GMT module with a date indication, a gold off-centred micro-rotor, and an escapement with a double direct impulse on the balance – a movement developed by Laurent Ferrier in collaboration with La Fabrique du Temps.
The Classic Traveller Globe Night Blue is worn on a grey Nubuck leather strap, hand-stitched with tone-on-tone topstitching and Alcantara lining. It is closed with a white gold pin buckle or double-blade folding clasp. The price is CHF 90,000 before taxes, and it is released as a non-limited edition.
