Last week we showed you the Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral pièce unique that Laurent Ferrier created for Only Watch 2013. It features the very first example of the new Tourbillon Double Spiral movement, LF Calibre 619.01, and comes in a stainless steel case. Besides Laurent Ferrier’s entry for the Only Watch 2011 auction, this is their second stainless steel watch. Together with the limited edition of just 18 pieces that we show you today, that makes exactly 20 pieces in stainless steel. And this time with a radiant dial!
Laurent Ferrier releases this limited edition of 18 pieces, to inaugurate the second version of the LF Calibre 619.01 equipping the Tourbillon Double Spiral. The aim was to make the performance of the regulating organ even more reliable and this was done by achieving complete mastery of the escapement, as Laurent Ferrier puts it. This means actually that they now receive the double hairspring from another supplier who produces them according Laurent Ferrier’s specifications. Now the famous tourbillon double-hairspring mechanism, combined with manual adjustment of this new escapement, performs even better.
The new movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal in the case back. The finishing on Laurent Ferrier’s movement is extremely meticulously done: the ratchet pawl and its smooth round-polished blade, the bridges embellished with Côtes de Genève, the circular-grained mainplate, the clean-cut edges and the hand-chamfered and polished interior angles. The art of watchmaking at its purest and finest.
This limited edition features a gold dial adorned by hand with a very unusual sunburst guilloché motif. The dial looks radiant and is further adorned by the delicate hour-markers, which accentuate the depth effect. The small seconds at 6 o’clock is slightly recessed and features the words “guilloche main”.
Each model is duly numbered on the case-back. For more info about this limited edition and its availability, please visit the Laurent Ferrier website or your nearest authorized retailer.
