For over 30 years, Omega and James Bond have shared a strong connection, with the Swiss watchmaker appearing in every Bond film, on the wrist of the secret agent since GoldenEye in 1995. Countless movie-featured watches and numerous special editions have been created, the latest dating to 2022 for the franchise’s 60th anniversary, but all have been dedicated to the good side, being worn by 007 or his allies. Today, on the occasion of James Bond Day, Omega releases a pair of watches (well, in fact, 6 special models; more on that later) and, for the first time, Spectre enters the picture. Same base model, same set of specifications, different attire representing each side of the story. And, to complete the picture, the two classic steel models are joined by two limited-edition sets, one for each name, combining a stainless-steel watch with a platinum-gold model, the latter featuring solid gold guilloche dials. Let’s discover the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond and Spectre Collection.

What we’re looking at here is a collection of six Seamaster watches, three bearing the symbols of James Bond and three bearing the symbols of Spectre, that are based on the Seamaster Diver 300M No-Date released in 2024 and powered by the Master Chronometer Calibre 8806. Two stainless-steel editions are available individually, one dedicated to James Bond and one to Spectre. These are special, non-limited editions. The collection is completed by two high-end limited-edition sets, one for each side of the story, combining a stainless-steel watch with a platinum-gold model. Each watch carries its emblem on the rotor: a gun-barrel decoration on the James Bond models and the Spectre logo on the Spectre models. So let’s dive into the details.

The Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond and Spectre Steel Editions

Bond or Spectre…? Secret agent or villain…? Choose your side. What you should know, however, is that whichever team you pick, these Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond and Spectre Steel Editions are technically identical and only differ in aesthetics. The base is well known, being the no-date version, the latest evolution of the emblematic Seamaster Professional 300M that debuted in 1993, first appeared in GoldenEye in 1995 and has been nicknamed the James Bond watch ever since. Let’s first get what we already know out of the way.

Both watches are steel models, retaining the collection’s classic 42mm case with 14.23mm thickness, 50mm lug-to-lug and a design that needs no introduction anymore, featuring lyre-shaped lugs, a conical HEV at 10 o’clock, partial crown guards and, specific to the no-date versions, a bos-shaped sapphire crystal. The watches both feature a “Naiad Lock” caseback with sapphire crystal and are water-resistant to 300m. Both editions come equipped with the now-classic brushed stainless steel mesh bracelet, closed by a steel clasp. This bracelet first appeared in titanium on the No Time to Die edition, before being released in steel on the 60 Years Of James Bond edition and finally on the regular production no-date models.

Under the caseback and before we talk about the special rotors, the Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond and Spectre steel editions are powered by the in-house Master Chronometer Calibre 8806. This automatic movement runs at a rate of 25,200 vibrations/hour (3.5Hz) and is regulated by the brand’s co-axial escapement with a free-sprung Silicon balance. As such, it offers impressive resistance to magnetic fields (up to 15,000 gauss) and is certified as a chronometer by both COSC and METAS. It is equipped with a single barrel and can store up to 55 hours of power reserve.

The James Bond model

The James Bond edition (ref. 210.30.42.20.03.004) feels like a successor to the 60 Years Of James Bond edition, thanks to its blue dial with laser-engraved waves, a classic look reminiscent of the early SMP 300m models produced during the 1990s. There are many elements unique to this edition, though, starting with the bezel, made of grade 5 titanium featuring a laser-ablated diving scale in positive relief, with a matte background – identical to the 2024 no-date version. Several special inscriptions are visible on the caseback too.

As for the blue aluminium dial, in addition to the iconic wave pattern, there’s the coat of arms that serves as a marker at 12 o’clock. The rest of the dial remains, with rhodium-plated, diamond-polished hour markers and openworked hands, all generously filled with white Super-LumiNova – blue emission for all elements, except the minute hand that shines in green. Turn the watch over, and you’ll discover an oscillating weight that’s been shaped like the iconic James Bond barrel, here with a rhodium-plated finish.

The Spectre Edition

For its first appearance as an Omega special edition, Spectre gets a much darker look. The Spectre edition (ref. 210.30.42.20.01.023) features a black ceramic bezel insert with a 60-minute scale in positive relief and a matte, grained surface. The aluminium dial follows the same idea, with its black, grained finish. Here, no specific elements on the hands and markers, which are all identical to classic versions of the Seamaster Diver 300M and coated with white Super-LumiNova. The back reveals a rather cool rotor, shaped like the crime organisation’s octopus logo and blackened.

The new steel Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond and Spectre are available as special, non-limited editions from October 5th at Omega boutiques and online. The price is the same for both models: EUR 8,500 (incl. taxes), CHF 6,700 or USD 8,600 (excl. taxes).

Quick facts: 42mm x 14.23mm – 50mm lug-to-lug – steel case, brushed and polished – unidirectional bezel with grade 5 titanium or black ceramic insert – box-shaped sapphire crystal with AR coating, Naiad lock back with sapphire – screw-down crown, HEV – 300m water-resistant – aluminium dial in blue with laser-engraved wave or blackened with grained effect – Master Chronometer calibre 8806, automatic, co-axial, no-date, 55h power reserve – brushed steel mesh bracelet – 210.30.42.20.03.004 (Bond) or 210.30.42.20.01.023 (Spectre)

The limited edition sets

In addition to the two steel editions above, Omega is also releasing two limited edition sets of two watches, one for James Bond and one for Spectre, each issued in 77 examples. Every set contains a stainless-steel model on a brushed mesh bracelet, identical to the models presented above, except for an applied plate on the side of the case at 9 o’clock, indicating the unique number of each set.

More importantly, the sets are completed by a high-end edition of the Seamaster Diver 300M made in the brand’s proprietary platinum-gold alloy (about 95% platinum and 5% gold – already seen in the 2020 Seamaster Bond edition and the recent Constellation Observatory). The same alloy is used for the pin buckle, since these editions are worn on shiny blue or black alligator straps. Also unique are the bezels, made of polished ceramic, in blue for the Bond model and in black for the Spectre edition, while the diving scale is executed in platinum.

The most distinctive elements of these limited editions are the dials and the dedicated rotors. The dials of both the Bond and Spectre editions are made from solid white gold with a guilloché pattern. The Bond edition receives a gradient blue PVD coating over a pattern that mimics the famous gun barrel, while the Spectre edition has a gradient grey-to-black PVD coating over an octopus-inspired engraved pattern.

On the other side, winding the automatic calibre 8806, are special oscillating weights. The Bond model has a blue gun barrel-inspired version, while the Spectre model has a black-and-gold octopus-shaped rotor. On both models, the emblem on the rotor is executed in 18k Moonshine Gold. As for the specifications, these high-end and limited platinum-gold versions are almost identical to the steel versions, with a marginally thicker case (14.29mm), the same box-shaped sapphire crystal, Helium valve, Naiad lock caseback and 300m water resistance.

Each limited-edition set is delivered in a large presentation box comprising the two watches, an additional NATO strap and strap-changing tool, cufflinks, a cord bracelet, a loupe, a leather travel pouch and card holder, and a certificate of authenticity. In the James Bond set, the strap keepers are engraved with 007, and the travel pouch is blue. In the Spectre set, the strap keepers carry the Spectre emblem, the cufflinks and cord bracelet are in matching Spectre execution, and the travel pouch is black. Note that neither watch is sold separately.

Each released in 77 numbered examples, the Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond and Spectre limited edition sets are priced at EUR 88,500 (incl. taxes), CHF 70,000 or USD 89,800 (excl. taxes).

  1. What a heap of crap. If anyone knows how to screw up a chance to redeem themselves it’s Omega. Stevie Wonder must be working for them.
