Singer Reimagined x Perpetuel Flytrack Limited Edition

Created in 2017, Singer Reimagined is an independent watchmaking brand that made a name for itself by creating unconventional chronographs with innovative movements. The Hong Kong Edition of their first watch, the Track1, was awarded the best Chronograph at the GPHG 2018. Singer Reimagined has always been about collaborative work, and their latest watch is the fruit of a meeting between Marco Borraccino, the Managing Director and co-founder of the brand, with Hamdan Bin Humaid Al Hudaidi and Melika Yazdjerdi, co-founders of Emirati Watch and Art Gallery Perpétuel.

A concept originally presented in 2019, the Singer Reimagined Flytrack redefines the flyback chronograph functionality with radical minimalism, a sort of modern chronostop watch. Pressing and releasing the pusher at 2 o’clock allows you to zero and restart immediately its central sweep-seconds to time short-time-based events, without needing to go through the traditional sequence of start-stop-reset. It can also be used to zero-reset your watch. The hours are indicated at the periphery of the dial on a rotating ring while the minutes are displayed traditionally in the centre.

Singer Reimagined’s Marco Borraccino explains that “Our Flytrack movement offers the most intuitive and reactive way of measuring short-time events. The proprietary built-in clutch system allows you to use the sweep second hand as a one-minute timer at the simple touch of the push button. The second hand becomes an interactive device for sequential measurements without interfering with the timekeeping of your watch. The mechanism can also be used to zero-reset the seconds and thus precisely synchronize the time of your watch”

Customizing Flytrack for their home region, Perpétuel opted for a matte green dial.  Set against a black ceramic aluminium background, golden Eastern Arabic numerals are paired with a pulsometer scale graduated for 15 pulsations. The 43mm barrel-shaped case is in steel with polished and brushed finishes.

Visible via the exhibition case back, the superb hand-wound Singer AG6364 calibre is made with Agenhor and is based on the mighty Agengraphe. It is ticking at 21,600vph, and its power reserve is 72 hours on two barrels.
