The All-Blue Tudor Black Bay 54 Reference 79000B
The brand’s popular compact dive watch series, the Black Bay 54, expands with the addition of a blue-coloured model.
In 2023, Tudor brought a new case size to its Black Bay collection, shrinking the Black Bay to 37mm, while staying true to the overall design codes of the series. At Watches and Wonders 2026, the brand presents a new variant that shares the tech specs with the earlier all-black 79000N reference but looks a bit cooler and refreshed, with a blue dial and matching bezel.
The familiar stainless steel case of the new Black Bay 54 measures 37mm in diameter, 11,2mm thick, and 46mm lug-to-lug, and comes mostly satin finished with polished accents. The unidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with an aluminium insert in blue, and like the earlier model, comes without the minute graduation, linking the series to the 1954 original reference 7922. The case is topped with a domed sapphire crystal and closed with a solid caseback. The fluted crown is decorated with the Tudor rose logo. Water resistance is 200m.
The dial of this new Black Bay 54 is slightly domed and rendered in blue, with a white-printed minutes track on the periphery. The applied indices, snowflake hours and a sword-shaped minutes hand remain, as the lollipop seconds hand. The hands and indices are treated with Super-LumiNova, and in contrast with the all-black reference 79000B, there are no gilded accents on the dial, and there’s no date.
The familiar in-house MT5400 movement powers the watch. This COSC-certified automatic movement operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour, and offers 70 hours of power reserve, with a stop-seconds function.
For the bracelet, there’s no news; the new Tudor Black Bay 54 79000B comes on a riveted three-link stainless steel bracelet, finished to match the case, with the brand’s T-Fit micro-adjustable folding clasp. A black rubber strap is another option, fitted with steel endlinks and the T-fit clasp. The watch is priced at CHF 3,650 on rubber, or CHF 3,850 on the bracelet.
