A Chance To Own An Actual James Bond Worn Omega Seamaster 300M 007 Edition
The very watch worn by Daniel Craig in the 2021 James Bond - No Time To Die movie.
Growing up as a youngster, I vividly remember sitting in front of the TV on a Saturday night with a bowl of snacks and tuning into a James Bond movie. It is one of my fondest TV-related memories from my childhood and it cemented my fandom for the movie franchise in its entirety. And part of me, as perhaps most young boys do, fantasized about how it would be to actually be James Bond. Of course, that’s far from a possibility, but there is a way to come that little bit closer to that feeling. Christie’s is auctioning a very special collection of James Bond items for charity, including an Omega Seamaster 300M 007 Edition worn on screen by none other than Daniel Craig in the “No Time To Die” movie.
The James Bond franchise spans over 6 decades and 25 movies so far. Throughout the entire franchise, James Bond has time and time again saved the world with a mix of British class and pure badassery. A key element in any James Bond movie are the cars and gadgets, issued by MI6’s Q-branche. Who can forget the iconic Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger, or the Little Nellie helicopter in You Only Live Twice? But besides modes of transport to go from A to B and combat the baddies, Mr. Bond often relies on watches to get him out of dire situations.
No Time To Die saw Daniel Craig sporting the Omega Seamaster 300M 007 Edition, a watch created especially for the movie and available to the public. However, Christie’s is now auctioning the on-screen watch in the upcoming “Sixty Years of James Bond” auction. Together with EON Productions, Christie’s will offer 60 unique items from the James Bond movies in a two-part sale. 25 items will be auctioned on the 28th of September 2022, with the other 35 items available through an online sale running between the 15th of September and James Bond Day, on October 5th.
The Omega Seamaster in question can be regularly seen in the movie. The 42mm wide titanium dive watch features a matte dark brown “Tropic” dial with Seamaster style hands and beige Super-LumiNova. It is fitted with Omega’s in-house Calibre 8806, with a co-axial escapement and 55 hours of power reserve. While it normally retails for EUR 8,100 on the Bond-style NATO strap or EUR 9,100 on the titanium mesh bracelet, Christie’s puts a GBP 15.000 to GBP 20.000 estimate on it (roughly EUR 18.000 to EUR 24.000 at the time of writing). To be honest, this sounds rather like a rather conservative estimate.
Along with the watch, you have a chance to own a tuxedo worn by Daniel Craig, a replica Aston Martin DB5 or a prop Fabergé egg as well. For more information, please visit Christies.com.
