The Vulcain Skindiver Nautique GMT Gets Three Fresh New Colours

Pink, turquoise blue, and green bring a fresh splash of colour to the compact vintage-style 200m diver.

For a while, the Vulcain Skindiver Nautique GMT kept things simple with black, white, and blue dials. Nothing wrong with that, of course. These are colours that work on just about any watch, especially one with vintage dive-watch looks. Then came the purple version last year, and the Skindiver Nautique GMT was all set for a little more fun. Speaking of fun, Vulcain is adding more funky colours to this compact tool watch, bringing pink, turquoise blue, and green to the collection.

The new iterations also bring the GMT closer to its three-hand Skindiver Nautique siblings that have already been delivered in some livelier options. That collection has gone from peppy orange to suave salmon, and even a meteorite dial. So it was about time for the GMT edition to follow suit. Inspired by the bright hues of summer in the Southern Hemisphere, the three new GMT editions are released in limited numbers. The rest of the watch remains unchanged, with luminescent hands and indexes for timekeeping in the dark, while the GMT hand tipped with a red-outlined arrow tracks a second time zone. Its bidirectional black ceramic bezel, marked with white numerals on a 24-hour scale, completes the setup.

Of the three, turquoise blue has a bright, almost tropical feel, while pink brings a softer shade to the wrist. Green is the deeper option, with a rich dial that plays nicely against the black bezel. All three keep the same layout, with large hour markers, broad hands, and a date window at 3 o’clock.

Its vertically brushed 316L stainless-steel case measures 38.3mm across and 12.2mm thick, with a double-curved sapphire crystal and a closed caseback. Since the new models are wearing the same classic Skindiver case, it comes with an unprotected crown and slim lugs (classic elements of a “skin diver” watch), with its crown screwed down. Its 200-metre water-resistance rating means this is still a proper dive watch, not just one dressed for a beach outing.

Powering the watches is the automatic Soprod C125 calibre, an alternative to the ETA 2893 and Sellita SW330. It runs at 28,800 vibrations/hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve. The independently adjustable GMT hand makes the Skindiver Nautique GMT an office-style GMT. You can choose between a vintage-style steel bracelet, a bead-of-rice bracelet, or a black rubber strap with a pin buckle.

Like the purple version before them, all three new colours are limited editions. The pink and turquoise blue versions are limited to 100 pieces each, while the green edition is limited to 50. Each edition is priced at EUR 2,130, CHF 1,970 or USD 2,170.
