In the past, Vulcain rightfully gained fame for its Cricket Alarm models. However, the brand also contributed to the world of diving watches during the 1960s, catering to the rising interest in recreational diving and the need for timepieces that complemented this lifestyle. Recognizing the significance of this aspect of its heritage, the recently revived Vulcain has wisely chosen not to overlook it. Following the release of iconic models like the Cricket Alarm and several other historical designs, like the Monopusher or the Chronograph 1970s, last year Vulcain unveiled the 200m water-resistant Skindiver Nautique 38mm, inspired by the Vulcain Nautique of the 1960s.

The modern Vulcain Skindiver Nautique 38mm series expands its lineup by introducing four new references, providing various materials, finishes, and colour combinations. Previously, the collection featured steel cases with black ceramic bezel inlays and dials in black, blue, and salmon (the latter currently sold out). While the 2024 models maintain the essence of last year’s references, they exude a heightened sense of excitement. Take a look and see for yourself.

The new stainless steel variants are the brightest, boasting fir green and orange dials, with white and black minute tracks, respectively. Both models include a unidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic insert, a solid steel caseback, and a ribbed screw-down crown. A domed sapphire crystal graces the top, enhancing the vintage aesthetic; the hands and indices, decked with Super-LumiNova, faithfully replicate those found on the inspirational model.

The collection’s standout piece is undoubtedly the Skindiver Nautique 38mm in yellow gold-plated steel. It features a blue ceramic insert for the bezel and a striking deep blue dial. The bezel markings are coordinated with the case colour, while the handset boasts a golden hue. Additionally, the Super-LumiNova indices are outlined in the same captivating gold shade.

Equally striking and sure to captivate many is the Vulcain Skindiver Nautique 38mm version in bronze, featuring a black dial. In this rendition, the accents on both the dial and bezel also echo the colour of the case, creating a cohesive and harmonious aesthetic. These elements come together nicely to complete the overall image of the watch.

Regarding timekeeping, all watches within the current Vulcain Skindiver Nautique 38mm lineup are powered by the ETA 2824 self-winding movement, boasting a 38-hour power reserve. Vulcain complements the Skindiver Nautique with a black leather strap, secured with a stainless steel pin buckle, and features an embossed carbon pattern and matching stitching. Additionally, customers have eight other strap options.

The steel versions with fir green and orange dials are priced at EUR 1,610, while the gold-plated variant with a blue dial is priced at EUR 1,990. The bronze version will set you back EUR 2,150. For further details, visit vulcain.ch.
