The Tudor Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26
Tudor's F1-inspired chronograph enters the new season with a new, white-and-yellow livery.
In 2024, Tudor announced its partnership with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One Team, which first resulted in the Black Bay Ceramic Blue, and most importantly, the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 25, a powerful chronograph in a lightweight attire inspired by the distinct livery of the 2025 Visa Cash App Racing Bulls car. We reviewed this rather surprising edition and were pleasantly surprised by its bold looks. But a new F1 season is underway, and it’s time for Tudor to launch a new edition, in line with the new livery used by Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, as the brand presents the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26.
Don’t expect significant changes. The recipe used last year has been applied for the new season, only with marginal changes to the colours. What was great – the carbon case, offering lightness and robustness, the Breitling-derived movement, the powerful looks with brightly coloured accents – remains. Only the livery is updated, and no engine upgrades are to be announced (still no new Kenissi-based chronograph movement).
As such, we’re looking at a high-tech version of the Black Bay Chrono, a model that has been around for about a decade now. Yet, compared to the earliest editions, major upgrades are to be reported, especially in this racing-inspired version. Just like last year’s version, the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 is a 42mm watch made in a combination of carbon fibre and titanium. Carbon is used for the middle case, the end-links, and the one-piece fixed bezel with tachymetric markings. Titanium is used for the crown, the pushers and the caseback, all coated in black PVD. This imposing but light model remains well protected, with screw-down pushers (not the most practical for a racing chrono) and 200m water-resistance.
The main novelty for this Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 concerns the dial, which is modelled after the 2026 Visa Cash App Racing Bulls team car, dubbed VCARB 03. What remains is the racing white base paired with carbon fibre sub-dials. Even the date window is framed in carbon. The dial is a layered dial construction, alternating brass discs and carbon fibre sheets. The bright blue accents of last year have, however, been replaced by yellow accents on the minute track, the sub-dials and the date disc. The handset and applied markers are classic Tudor and outlined in black for contrast.
The Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 retains the calibre MT5813, based on the architecture of the Breitling B01. This automatic COSC-certified chronograph is equipped with a column wheel, runs at 4Hz and stores about 70 hours of power reserve. Exclusive to Tudor, it comes with a silicon balance spring, next to a variable inertia balance. Tudor applies a -2/+4 seconds variation standard on the assembled watch.
Worn on a hybrid leather-rubber strap with a rubber tyre pattern, closed by a PVD-coated pin buckle, the new Tudor Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 is released as a limited edition of 2,026 pieces, priced at EUR 7,980 or CHF 7,050. For more details, please visit tudorwatch.com.
