The 2024 Formula 1 season hasn’t started yet. Teams are yet to present their new cars and liveries. And yet, the season seems to already be on a rapid pace. Following the announcement last week of a global partnership between H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine Motorsport, which includes the BWT Alpine F1 Team, it is time for another unexpected announcement on the track… Indeed, Tudor, the sister brand of Rolex (Global Partner and Official Timepiece of Formula 1), has just announced returning to motorsport, by joining the brand-new Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team as an official partner.

Tudor is no stranger to motorsport, as it has supported winning teams during the golden era of motorsport, starting with the Tudor Watch Racing Team in the late 1960s (you can find brilliant vintage ads here, with a Tudor-branded Porsche 906), all the way to the recent IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. This has shown in the brand’s collections too, with motorsport-inspired chronographs such as the Home Plate OysterDate Chronograph 7032 or the more recent Grantour Chronograph and FastRider Chronograph. Recently, the brand was not focused on partnering with racing teams anymore, but this year motorsport makes an impressive comeback.

As of this season, Tudor Watch will be the official partner of a newly created racing team, RB Formula One Team – known as Scuderia AlphaTauri from the 2020 to 2023 seasons, and one of two Formula One constructors owned by Austrian conglomerate Red Bull. Driving the cars for the 2024 season are proven race winner Daniel Ricciardo and younger pilot Yuki Tsunoda.

For now, no dedicated watch has been announced by Tudor, which uses the Black Bay Ceramic Master Chronometer as a communication vessel. However, Tudor somehow recently teased a watch that would be a perfect fit for racing, a possible return of the Tudor “Big Block Prince Chronograph that was presented as a unique piece in gold for Only Watch 2023… Who knows, it could well be the future watch of the drivers, to be presented at Watches and Wonders 2024… Time will tell, but for now, Tudor is going full throttle into the 2024 Formula 1 season with the Visa Cash App RB Formula One team.
