The New Rado Captain Cook x Tennis Limited Edition
Stylish, sharp and sporty, this commemorative Rado is a tribute to the game and a versatile, everyday companion.

Rado’s long-standing connection with tennis has inspired a rich catalogue of special-edition timepieces that celebrate the sport in style. Over the years, the brand has released collectable models that nod to various facets of tennis culture through subtle design cues, commemorative engravings, and visual touches. From the 1998 DiaMaster ATP Tour and Roland Garros editions to the HyperChrome Hard Court and Matchpoint models (2013 and 2015), the HyperChrome Shot Clock Countdown in 2018, or the 2023 Captain Cook x Cameron Norrie Limited Edition, Rado has continuously served up tennis-themed designs.
To honour 40 years of partnership with professional tennis, Rado presents the Tennis Limited Edition. Based on a compact version of the Captain Cook, this latest release is a fusion of vintage diver aesthetics and functionality with fun tennis-inspired details.
The new Rado Captain Cook x Tennis Limited Edition is housed in a compact yet robust 300m water-resistant 39mm stainless steel case (45.5mm lug-to-lug, 12.0mm thick). It features a polished turning bezel with a circular brushed plasma high-tech ceramic insert, engraved with white lacquered markers and a triangle filled with Super-LumiNova at 12 o’clock. The polished screw-down crown bears the Rado anchor logo, and the screw-down caseback showcases a “limited edition, one out of 1985” engraving along with embossed textures of the three main tennis surfaces: grass, clay, and hard court. The watch is topped with a box-shaped sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The ruthenium-to-white gradient dial is elegant and symbolic. Four dark yellow Super-LumiNova dots appear at 3, 6, 8, and 12 o’clock, referencing the tennis scoring system (15, 30, 40, game). A ruthenium-coloured flange, rhodium-coloured applied indices, and rhodium-plated hands with white Super-LumiNova ensure visibility, while the seconds hand features a yellow tennis ball-inspired tip. A date window at 3 o´clock completes the functionality.
The watch is powered by the Rado calibre R763, an automatic movement with 25 jewels and an extended 80-hour power reserve. It is equipped with an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring for enhanced resistance to magnetic fields and more consistent performance. It is the same as the ETA C07.611 (a.k.a Powermatic 80) and operates at 21,600 vibrations/hour.
The Captain Cook x Tennis Limited Edition is delivered on a brushed and polished beads-of-rice stainless steel bracelet with a 3-fold clasp. Three extra NATO-style textile straps are included: blue for hard courts, green for grass, and orange for clay, each featuring a stainless steel pin buckle. A leather travel pouch completes the set. The retail price is CHF 2,400. For more information, please visit www.rado.com.

A little hefty price but Rado is a premium brand.
