The New and Stylish Pequignet Attitude Onyx

After last year’s limited-edition Attitude with Tiger’s Eye dial, Pequignet continues to expand its collection with a version that once again puts the dial material centre stage. Called the Attitude Onyx, this new model replaces conventional dial finishes with genuine black onyx. Its dark, relatively uniform surface sets a restrained tone, with rose-gold-coloured details. The Attitude Onyx follows the collection’s established design, offering traditional proportions and the manufacture’s own automatic movement.

The case, like previous editions, measures 39mm in diameter and 9.2mm thick, with 46.85mm lug-to-lug. Made from polished 316L stainless steel, it has a relatively compact profile and a simple rounded shape. A domed, box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the dial, a vintage touch to an otherwise contemporary design. The crown bears the fleur-de-lys emblem. The caseback, secured by six screws, features a sapphire window revealing the movement. Water resistance is 50m.

The dial is cut from genuine black onyx; it has the opaque colour and fine grain characteristic of the mineral. The hands and hour indices are rose-gold plated and add a warmer tone. The brand’s logo is rendered in white, while the crisp minutes track runs the dial’s periphery.

The watch is powered by the Calibre Initial, Pequignet’s in-house automatic movement developed, manufactured and assembled in Morteau. Measuring 28.2mm in diameter and just 4.2mm thick, it allows the watch to retain its relatively slim proportions. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and provides a 65-hour power reserve, and features a stop-seconds function. Pequignet proudly states that 72% of the movement’s components are manufactured in France, with the rest sourced from Switzerland, all within an 80km radius of the manufacture.

The Attitude Onyx is worn on a black leather strap lined in black leather, closed with a polished stainless steel pin buckle bearing the fleur-de-lys logo. Part of the permanent collection, the Pequignet Attitude Onyx is priced at EUR 3,500 including VAT. For more, please visit pequignet.com.
