Orient Introduces Its First-Ever Collaboration with Peanuts, with 4 Snoopy-Themed Models
To celebrate their respective 75th anniversary, Orient and Peanuts teamed up to release 4 limited edition watches.

As we’ve seen recently, Orient, a Japanese watchmaker owned by the Seiko Epson Corporation, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Created in 1950, it has since made a name for itself in the accessible segment with watches such as the Mako or the Bambino. There’s another important name that was created that same year; a comic strip in American newspapers named Peanuts featuring emblematic characters such as Charlie Brown, Woodstock and, of course, Snoopy (a well-known name in watchmaking) For the occasion, Orient and Peanuts have teamed up to launch 4 limited editions in celebration of their respective 75th anniversaries this year – two Bambino 38, one Semi Skeleton and a Mako 40.
Founded in 1950, Orient has built its credibility as a trusted, accessible watch brand with its in-house manufactured mechanical watches. Another globally loved brand celebrating its 75th year is Peanuts, which also began in 1950 as a comic strip in American newspapers. Created by Charles M. Schulz, the strip’s original run extended from 1950 to 2000, continuing in reruns afterward. It has since become among the most popular and influential comic strips in history, making it “arguably the longest story ever told by one human being,” according to Sarah Boxer in The New York Times (at least, that’s what she claimed when Schulz passed away in 2000). While featuring multiple characters, Snoopy and Charlie Brown being at the centre of the story.
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of both brands, special collaborative models have been released from three emblematic series of Orient watches: two editions of the Orient Bambino 38 from the Classic Collection, a Semi Skeleton watch from the Contemporary Collection, and one Orient Mako 40 from the Sports Collection. What sets these watches apart from the classic collection are, first, Orient’s original logo in cursive at 12 o’clock. Then, as you’d imagine, several references to the strip have been included on the dials and backs, with specially designed Peanuts anniversary artwork at 6 o’clock of Snoopy in his classic sleeping position and Woodstock wearing a golden crown. The crown evokes Orient’s symbol of two lions facing one another.
First, the Peanuts x Orient Bambino 38 – a watch that we have extensively reviewed here and praised for its incredible price/quality ratio – comes in two dial colours: a classic white dial and a cream-toned dial emphasizing the model’s vintage look. Something you can’t see in the images here, Woodstock also replaces the numeral “1” on the date display, adding a cool easter egg to the watch. For the rest, the Bambino 38 Peanuts editions remain identical to classic versions, with a 38.4mm x 12.5mm x 44mm polished steel case with domed mineral glass, see-through back (with specific decoration), and a 30-metre water-resistance. Inside the case is the in-house calibre F6724, an automatic movement with 40h power reserve beating at 3Hz.
The white dial version (reference RA-AC0M16S) is worn on a black leather strap with a pin buckle and is limited to 7,800 pieces. The cream-toned dial model (reference RA-AC0M17G) is worn on a beige nubuck strap with a pin buckle and is limited to 3,100 pieces. Both retail for EUR 399.99 and feature quick-change straps.
Next in line is a more modern and bolder watch, the Peanuts x Orient Semi Skeleton, based on an existing model from the Contemporary collection. This sharp watch measures 40.8mm x 10.9mm x 48mm and comes with a silver-white dial with large applied markers and hands. The watch relies on a partially opened dial – open-heart concept – with the regulating organ visible at 9 o’clock. Snoopy and Woodstock sit on the small seconds display at 6 o’clock, adding a fun and charming touch to an otherwise technical-looking watch. Powered by the automatic in-house calibre F6S22 (40h power reserve, 3Hz) and worn on a black leather strap, this Semi Skeleton Peanuts edition (reference RA-AR0011S) is limited to 1,900 pieces and retails for EUR 449.99.
Last but not least is a special take on the brand’s emblematic dive watch, the Orient Mako 40. A classic, well-loved watch from the brand’s Sports Collection, the Peanuts x Orient version is presented here with a silvery-white dial featuring Snoopy sleeping on the depth rating, next to his friend Woodstock. Here again, Woodstock replaces the numeral “1” on the date display. This compact version of the Mako (39.9mm x 12.8mm x 46.5mm) features a brushed steel unidirectional bezel, a screw-down crown and a comfortable 200m water-resistance. It is powered by the automatic in-house calibre F6722 (40h power reserve, 3Hz). Worn on a black leather strap, this Mako 40 Peanuts edition (reference RA-AC0Q08S) is limited to 3,800 pieces and priced at EUR 449.99.
All models in the Peanuts x Orient 75th Anniversary collection feature “Orient 75th Anniversary” in cursive, the 75th anniversary Peanuts logo, and engravings of Woodstock and the limited-edition serial number on the back. These are delivered in a special 75th-anniversary box. For more details, please visit orient-watch.com.

The cream-toned is not available anywhere -who knows why.
Why is it so hard to put sapphire glass on the 38mm bambino these days?
I’ll stick with my Snoopy Speedmaster.
Watchmaking it’s going to the dogs.
