Omega Adds a Gradient Turquoise Option to the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Collection
A new, quite bold dial colour for the AT, in 41mm and 38mm.
It has become a pretty recurring thing for Omega to release new models, or at least new editions of existing watches, with very little or no fanfare. While this has happened in the Planet Ocean and Speedmaster collections, it’s mostly the Aqua Terra family that sees these discreet releases dropping regularly. Following the addition of a green dial to the 38mm AT and an array of Moonshine Gold models earlier this year, it’s time for the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Shades to bring an unprecedented colour to its already extensive range, with a new gradient turquoise option for both the 41mm and 38mm versions.
While looking fresh and new, these new editions are based on the Shades version of the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m. As a reminder, this sub-collection is slightly different from the traditional Aqua Terra, which we’ve come to know with its brushed and polished case, sporty bracelet or rubber strap and signature teak-like textured dial. The Shades sub-collection is more colourful and slightly dressier – or should we say a bit more refined. First, its case is entirely polished, even though it is identical in shape to other AT models. Second, it features a different bracelet with smaller, rounded links. Finally, its dials are untextured and, for most of them, feature bright colours and a sunray-brushed finish – one exception being the glossy black dials. Several sizes are available, ranging from 34mm to 41mm. All in all, it’s a more formal, slightly more elegant take on the Aqua Terra.
For the end of the year, Omega adds two new references to its collection, and this time, we’re talking bold looks. Based on the two largest versions of the Aqua Terra 150m Shades, the main novelty concerns the dial. Not only do we have an unprecedented colour – turquoise – but also a lacquered gradient effect and dark, contrasting hardware. The dial reveals a bright turquoise colour in the centre, with a darker effect on the periphery. The hands, triangular applied markers, date frame window and applied logo, have a heavy contrast and are coated in dark grey PVD, together with white Super-LumiNova. The date disc is also dark-coloured.
As with the rest of the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Shades, these two new Turquoise versions are worn on a slim bracelet with short, rounded links, closed by a folding clasp with comfort release. A screw-in crown and screwed back guarantee a solid 150m water-resistance. As said, we have two options available, one in 38mm (12.4mm thickness, 44.9mm length) with the automatic calibre 8800 inside. This Master Chronometer movement features a co-axial escapement, is certified by METAS and is built around a single barrel architecture with a 55h power reserve.
The larger version, at 41mm in diameter, 13.3mm in thickness and 47.9mm in length, shares the same overall look but is fitted with a different movement inside, the calibre 8900. This more advanced automatic movement features 2 barrels, with a 60h power reserve, as well as a practical time zone function for the hour hand. It’s also Master Chronometer, highly resistant to magnetism and regulated by a co-axial escapement. On both versions, the movements are visible under a sapphire back and decorated in a classic Omega way, with Geneva stripes in Arabesque.
Soon to be available from the brand and retailers, both editions of the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Gradient Turquoise are priced at EUR 7,300 – slightly surprising, given the different movements inside. For more details, please visit OmegaWatches.com.

Would be nice to get a no date with applied, polished indices, a slim case and a normally shaped crown, is that asking too much?
Would be nice to see actual photos instead of renders.
