A dynamic fresh look for the Aqua Terra.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m 2022 coloured collection

The Seamaster Aqua Terra has forged a niche in the Seamaster family as a handsome, all-terrain, resilient, everyday watch for land and sea. Although it is not touted as a professional dive watch, it offers the best of both worlds with its more than respectable 150m water-resistance (aqua), classic good looks and precision movement to take you from the office and beyond in style (terra). In short, this Omega watch has been thought of as an all-rounder you can use every day, everywhere and in pretty much all situations. For the 2022 collection, we are getting an array of new models fitted with 9 colourful dials offering a dynamic, vibrant fresh look!

These new 2022 Seamaster Aqua Terra watches are offered in two sizes. The larger sized model is 38mm with dial variations in Atlantic Blue, Bay Green, Sandstone, Saffron and Terracotta. The 34mm editions feature dials in Sea Blue, Lagoon Green, Sandstone, Shell Pink and Lavender. The sandstone grey is therefore the only colour common to the two sizes.

The new dials are fashioned from brass with PVD or CVD treatment. These do not feature the Aqua Terra grooved horizontal pattern and instead are sun-brushed from the centre. The hands and indexes are rhodium-plated on the 38mm models and in 18K white gold (in a softer, more feminine design) on the 34mm editions.

Both case sizes are presented in fully polished (instead of brushed and polished cases for the existing models) stainless steel with the collection characteristic twisted lugs. The 38mm case is 45.1mm lug-to-lug and 12.28mm in height. The 34mm model is 40.49mm lug-to-lug and 11.88mm in height. The sapphire crystal features a double-sided AR coating. Courtesy of the screw-in crown and caseback, the water resistance is rated to 150m.

Inside the watch is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8800. This 26mm movement features a 3-level coaxial escapement and a balance fitted with a Si14 hairspring beating at 25,200vph. It can store over 55 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The precision of this chronometer movement is certified by METAS, with magnetic resistance of 15,000 gauss. Visible via the exhibition caseback, it is rhodium plated and decorated with arabesque Geneva stripes, red varnished engraving and blackened screws, barrel and balance wheel.

Besides the dials, one of the main updates for these 2022 models is the new wonderfully flexible and comfortable bracelet. These have been redesigned rounded links (polished central links, brushed external links) and improved integration to the case. The butterfly clasp is closed by a patented screw-and-pin system with pushers on the cover.

On the wrist, these new Seamaster Aquaterra watches feel particularly comfortable and adequately elegant. Their fresh, modern touch will offer a perfect alternative to the colourful Rolex Perpetual Oyster 36 and 41. Like all Seamaster Aqua Terra watches, these are covered with a 5-year international warranty. The price is set at EUR 6,300 for both sizes.

  1. Yikes, no gold trim around the date window and the date actually having a white background???

Omega cutting corners now??? And just a 38mm dial???

Beautiful watches, but like the Swatch/Omega cheap plastic watch, this one doesn’t deliver.

Also, this this price, I can add a little more and get me a nice, shiny new 41 Rolex Datejust. 😉

You missed again Omega. As if the fat-bezeled new Seamasters weren’t bad enough already.
