New Colours for the Military-Inspired Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic
Attractive blue and green dial colours and two case sizes expand the popular Khaki Field collection.

Hamilton’s military credentials date back to World War I when the American brand supplied precision railroad watches to soldiers under the command of General Pershing. With a well-earned reputation for reliability and robustness, during World War II, Hamilton stopped civilian production to concentrate exclusively on providing the US Army with field watches. Now one of Hamilton’s most popular collections, the Khaki Field “go anywhere, do anything” models capture the rugged utilitarian spirit of the brand’s original military watches. Hamilton expands the collection with new references in 38mm and 42mm stainless steel cases with two new dial colours and matching steel bracelets or leather straps.
Harnessing the spirit of Hamilton’s military watches, the new Khaki Field models come in sturdy 100m water-resistant cases with sapphire crystals front and back. Available in 38mm and 42mm cases with a thickness of 11.5mm and 11mm, respectively, the case middle has a sporty brushed finish while the bezel and large crown are polished.
Adding a dash of colour, the dark blue and khaki green dials retain the collection’s military traits with their large oversized Arabic numerals for the twin hour scales and the precision minutes track. With a similar dial layout to the titanium model and the Far Cry 6 limited edition featured in the video game, the new models reveal slightly different finishings and include a framed date window at 3 o’clock.
The central area of the dial with the 24-hour scale is decorated with a sunray effect that catches the light, while the hour ring has a matte snailed finish, adding texture and depth. To assist legibility, Super-LumiNova is applied to the syringe-style hour and minute hands, indices and dots at 5-minute intervals on the peripheral track. The date window is highlighted with a white frame, and the arrow-shaped tip of the central seconds hand is red.
Powered by calibre H-10, Hamilton’s version of Swatch Group’s Powermatic 80, the automatic movement has a Nivachron hairspring to combat magnetism, a 3Hz frequency and a robust power reserve of 80 hours.
The Khaki Field Automatic on a brushed stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp (in both sizes) retails for CHF 730 / EUR 825. Fitted with a brown leather strap and pin buckle, the watch retails for a slightly lower price of CHF 650 / EUR 745. More information at hamiltonwatch.com.

Is it me or does the AR coating look greatly improved on these models? 😀
Why are the smaller ones thicker?
Well it certainly could not get worse!
Is there an update the bracelet? Anyone have experience with the old bracelets if so?
A glossy sunray dial has no place on a military style watch.
I have the old bracelet. I would wish they did not cut the centerlink in half, but the bracelet is light and very comfy, and it looks decent enough

I don’t believe Hamilton used AR on most earlier Khaki Field models, so if they added it now, it certainly is improved.
According to the Hamilton website, the 42mm watches have anti-reflection coating but the 38mm ones don’t. I hope that’s a website error.
