| By Brice Goulard | 3 min read |
The Monochrome Video Week

Today marks the final day of “The Monochrome Video Week”. We hope you have enjoyed watching the in-depth movies presented this week. All of them have been filmed in our own style, by our own crew and feature subjects that we are truly passionate about; haute-horlogerie finishing at Montblanc, 20 years of visionary watchmaking at URWERK, not to mention the inner-workings of two brands that are dear to our hearts, MCT Watches and Ateliers DeMonaco. Now it’s time for us to recap some of our most-viewed movies. From the conservative but oh so desirable world of A. Lange & Söhne, to an inside look at the integrated manufacture of Armin Strom and a headlong dive into the creative world of MB&F and the MAD Gallery, here are five movies for the watch lovers.

Montblanc – The Patented ExoTourbillon explained by Davide Cerrato

If you’ve ever wondered what a tourbillon actually is then this video is made for you. Follow Davide Cerrato, Managing Director of the Montblanc Watch Division, as he explains, in this descriptive, informative and ultimately fascinating video, the ins-and-outs of the Montblanc Patented ExoTourbillon.

A. Lange & Söhne – A New Manufactory – Interview with Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of the brand

Lange… A name synonymous with German watches, high-end finishing and exceptionally desirable movements! Here, in this video, CEO of the brand, the pleasant and knowledgeable Wilhelm Schmid, guides you through the recently opened manufacture of A. Lange & Söhne, in Glashütte, Germany.

Armin Strom – Sculpting Time – Inside the Armin Strom Manufacture

Nowadays, the word “manufacture” is used and abused by so many brands that it becomes quite difficult to know what “manufacture” actually means. In order to provide some clarity, we invite you on a guided tour into Armin Strom’s facilities. After this we’re pretty sure that you’ll understand what an integrated manufacture producing high-end watches should look like.

Monochrome-Watches visits the MB&F MAD Gallery – Geneva

What makes MB&F so special? Well, in short, simply the fact that they are special… There must be something different in their morning coffees. In any event this is why we, at Monochrome Watches, love Max Büsser, his teams and friends. Don’t just take our word for it though, come on an adventure to see what an MB&F Boutique looks like. It’s time to enter the creative world of the MAD Gallery.

Kees Engelbarts – Dutch Hand-Engraver and Watchmaker

Kees Engelbarts is an enigma in the watchmaking world, and so are his watches. He’s an artist, an engraver and a watchmaker producing a type of watches that no one else will ever be able to… and this is exactly why he’s a very good friend to us. That’s why we like to take this opportunity to re-introduce you to this man and his art. Believe us, it is worth a closer look.

  1. The interview with the CEO of Lange reminds me very much of an interview ,I saw a while back ,with the CEO of Porsche AG.
Simply the best, in my opinion.
