MeisterSinger Plays With Colours In The Neo 36 And Neo 40 Green Dégradé

Following a whole new batch of colours, MeisterSinger now branches out into dégradé green territories.

In recent times, MeisterSinger has been playing with colours a lot. What used to be a devotion to the more classical styles of black, white and blue, has evolved into a myriad of interesting colours across all collections. The Perigraph “Mellow Yellow”, the new Unomat colours and the recent Pangaea Day Date are just a few examples. This play on colours is done in a rather original way, with fresh tones and thoughtful details, all remaining true to the single-handed spirit MeisterSinger is known for. The Neo, the brand’s most classical and accessible collection, gets a fresh dose of green, as MeisterSinger presents the Neo 36 & Neo 40 Green Dégradé.

The Neo is one of the more simple watches by MeisterSinger and a perfect entry into the more relaxed take on the passage of time. It represents the more classical side of the brand in terms of design, yet features all the hallmarks that make MeisterSinger’s watches so interesting. The single hand, the double-digit hour numerals, the timing track, etc. While the overall attributes haven’t changed one bit, this new version of the Neo is all about colour, just like the Bordeaux Dégradé before it.

The MeisterSinger Neo comes in two sizes, 36mm and 40mm, both perfectly suited for almost every wrist out there. The stainless steel case is fully polished and has only a minimal bezel, freeing up as much dial space as possible. Visually this increases the size of the watch a bit. The case is topped with a hardened acrylic crystal, and turning it over will reveal a closed caseback decorated with the MeisterSinger logo.

On par with current trends ( yes, we know, it’s green again) MeisterSinger changes the Neo’s dial from Bordeaux Dégradé to a sunburst Green Dégradé. But it’s not just any old boring green, but rather a nice tone to be honest. The sunray brushed finishes, paired with the gradient effect gives it loads of character. Surrounding the dial is MeisterSinger’s timing track, helping to identify the 5-minute, 15-minute, 30-minute increments and so on. The double-digit hour numerals are there to balance everything out, and at the bottom, there’s the bevelled date window. As always, a single hand revolves over the dial.

Under the hood, a Sellita SW 200 diligently does its job. This automatic movement is a reliable workhorse, providing 38 hours of autonomy and running at a frequency of 28,800vph. The MeisteSinger Neo 36 & Neo 40 Green Dégradé models are worn on a cognac suede leather strap, or a brown Horween leather strap, both with a steel pin buckle. It retails for EUR 1,150 in the smaller size, and EUR 1,250 in the larger size and will be available from the end of June 2022.

  1. Firstly, I give them a lot of credit to them for offering a 36mm watch. For someone with small wrists it’s welcome. The Neo has been on my wish list for quite a while. Handsome watch at a reasonable price.
