The Louis Erard Regulator X GoS with Damascus Steel Dial
Forged in Sweden by GoS, with the distinctive personality of Damascus steel.

Over the years, Swiss brand Louis Erard has made a name for itself with two distinctive features. One, a rather sturborness in making watches with a regulator display, something that has become a signature. Second, bringing cool design and features reserved for high-end watches at more accessible prices thanks to multiple collaborations with independent watchmakers, designers and craftsmen. And on that specific topic, the brand has just released its latest collaboration watch, a regulator (obviously) with a dial made of Damascus steel… And if you know the indie watchmaking scene, you have already recognized the work of Patrik Sjögren of GoS.
We have seen dozens of collaborations between Swiss brand Louis Erard and renowned independent watchmakers over the years. The idea is to invite them to add their distinctive touch and design language to a relatively affordable watch, usually powered by an automatic Sellita regulator movement. Thus, you can get the taste of these high-end watches you’ve always dreamed of but at a fraction of the price. Think, for instance, about the striking Louis Erard x Vianney Halter, the Louis Erard Régulateur x Cédric Johner, the Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin and many Silberstein models.
The latest collaboration is giving you access to something special: a rough diamond of the independent watchmaking scene, very niche and, for once, not coming from Switzerland, GoS. This brand is rather unique in its origin and focus, being a brand from Sweden, founded by watchmaker Patrik Sjögren, with the idea to integrate ancient Scandinavian craft tradition in watches, Damascus steel. Since 2021, he has worked exclusively with Swedish master bladesmith Conny Persson.
For Louis Erard’s latest Regulator watch, Sjögren was given carte blanche to redefine the dial and add his personal touch. And as you’d expect from the man, Damascus steel takes centre stage here. Forged with multiple layers of steel, then undergoing a proprietary bath treatment that intensifies its contrasts, the dials are forged by Conny Persson and meticulously hand-finished by Patrik Sjögren, revealing the states of the Damascus steel – grey tones, black background, and a polished surface that reflects the ambient light and can create a warm or cold dial depending on the angle.
Floating above this one-of-a-kind Damascus surface are three distinctive blue hands, in the classic Sword shape dear to GoS, as well as the signature triskelion-inspired small seconds disc at 6 o’clock and Louis Erard and GoS symbols transferred in white at 3 o’clock. Time, with the classic regulator layout (central minute, hours at 12 and seconds at 6) is easy to read thanks to a notched chapter ring and an applied hour counter, both rhodium-plated with circular satin finish and diamond-polished chamfers. The final distinctive touch comes from the strap, which is made from salmon leather, as a tribute to GoS’s Nordic origins. An additional grained black strap is also included, and both feature quick-release spring bars.
With the rest of this Louis Erard X GoS, you’re in known territory. The watch is housed in the more compact version of the Regulator, meaning a 39mm diameter steel case, with relatively short lugs measuring less than 46mm in total length. The thickness is rather present, at close to 13mm. The 3-part case is entirely polished, features a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on top, a partially black-tinted sapphire caseback and water-resistance is rated at 50 metres.
Under the hood, in order to keep the cost relatively low, is an outsourced Sellita SW266-1, the regulator version of the tried-and-tested SW 200 (itself modelled after the ETA 2824). This automatic movement runs at 4Hz and stores about 38 hours of energy when fully wound.
A limited edition of 178 pieces, the Louis Erard Regulator X GoS is priced at CHF 4,250 (excl. taxes). For more details, please visit louiserard.com.
