The New Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronometre Collection
Compact, slim cases with sleek integrated bracelets signal a new, more contemporary direction for the Master Control family.
Back for a second tenure at Jaeger-LeCoultre, Jérôme Lambert’s 2025 return as CEO has brought fresh momentum to the brand. While spectacularly complex models like the Master Hybris Inventiva Gyrotourbillon a Stratosphere might eclipse the limelight at Watches & Wonders this year, there is a second release that deserves attention: the new Master Control Chronometre collection. Based on the classic, precision-driven Master Control family, the new collection is important on several fronts. For one, it features a new, beautifully constructed and integrated bracelet that refines the design, and secondly, the movements are the first to be tested under the new High Precision Guarantee (HPG) seal, replacing the former 1000 Hours Control. Debuting with compact and slim time-and-date, date and power reserve and a more sophisticated perpetual calendar, let’s take a first look at the new trilogy.
The Master Control family, launched in 1992, draws inspiration from the maison’s golden era of classic 1950s designs, represented by models like the Futurematic and Geophysic. Characterised by round cases with curved lugs, sharp Dauphine hands, dart-shaped indices, and sunray-brushed dials, the Master Control captures the vintage spirit of the brand’s golden oldies with understated, timeless sophistication. The “Control” part of its name refers to the brand’s 1,000 Hour Control certification, which evaluates the entire watch against 15 gruelling criteria.
Joining, but not replacing earlier models, the first thing to catch the eye of the new Master Control Chronometre models is the sleek, integrated bracelet. Although there are Master Control models with steel bracelets, I don’t think anybody anticipated a bracelet of this calibre. Closer in spirit to the bracelets of Vacheron’s Overseas line (a positive comparison), the integrated bracelet creates an unbroken line from the case all the way around the wrist, lending the watches a more sophisticated, contemporary allure.
You can see that a lot of thought has gone into the design and construction of the three-link bracelet, with its vertically brushed links and polished bevels. Taking inspiration from the features of the Master Control’s dial, the sharp, elongated and polished link traversing the central link of the three-row bracelet suggests the profile of the Dauphine hour and minute hands. Another reference to the dial is the V-shaped bevel on the outer links, which echoes the triangular indices. The bracelet is attached with a double-folding buckle with push pieces, and features a built-in micro-adjustment system (comfort release).
Before looking at the individual watches, it’s worth noting that all three models share compact, slim 50m water-resistant cases (38mm x 8.4mm and 39mm x 9.2mm). Decorated with a profusion of satin-brushed surfaces and brightly polished bevels, the bezel, crown and Dauphine-shaped link of the bracelet are polished.
The three watches are powered by in-house automatic chronometer-certified movements with silicon escapements, 4Hz frequencies and a 70-hour power reserve – all certified by the HPG seal. In a nutshell, the HPG tests cased watches across four critical elements of daily wear: altitude, shocks, positions and temperature. Tested over three days, the HPG seal also certifies the aesthetic finishes of the calibres decorated with eight traditional techniques.
Other shared features are the sunray-brushed dials with faceted applied indices and slim Dauphine hands. Underscoring the technical nature of the chronometer-certified movements, the periphery of the dial features a precision seconds and minutes track with dots at 5-minute intervals.
Master Control Chronometre Date
The most straightforward model in the trilogy, this classic time-and-date watch comes in a compact, unisex 38mm case with a slim 8.4mm silhouette. Available in steel with a blue-grey gradient dial or pink gold with a bronze-coloured dial, details like the polished dots on the peripheral track, the framed date window with its background matching the dial colour, the faceted indices and Dauphine hands, and the silky sunray-brushed dial attest to the care invested in the finishings. The reverse reveals the complex construction of the integrated bracelet and the slim 3.3mm automatic manufacture calibre 899 powering the watch.

Master Control Chronometre Date Power Reserve
Inspired by Jaeger’s iconic 1951 Futurematic, the date-and-power-reserve dial layout features two circular sub-dials balanced on the 9-3 axis. The blue-grey gradient sunray dial bears all the hallmark features of the Master Control family, complemented by the recessed, snailed sub-dial for the power reserve at 9 o’clock, with a red warning indicator, and the date directly opposite, also with a red accent on 31.
Only available in steel, the 39mm case has a slim height of 9.2mm and is powered by the new manufacture calibre 738. Just 4.97mm thick, the sapphire caseback reveals the openworked 22k gold rotor and the finely finished movement with a 70-hour power reserve for the hours, minutes, seconds, power reserve and date functions.

Master Control Chronometre Perpetual Calendar
The most complicated member of the trilogy is this QP, powered by the latest generation of the well-known, ultra-thin manufacture calibre 868. Capable of accounting for months of different lengths and leap years, the movement, if kept wound, will not need an adjustment until 2100. Moreover, the calendar indications can be adjusted simultaneously via a single calendar. Presented in a 39mm case with a thickness of just 9.2mm, the new Perpetual Calendar with its integrated bracelet is an absolute beauty.
Available in steel with a blue-grey gradient dial or pink gold with a bronze-coloured dial, the calendar indications are displayed in four sub-dials with an outer opaline ring and snailed interiors – months and year at noon, days of the week at 3 o’clock, date at 9 o’clock, leap year indicator above central axis and moon phases ( with a hammered gold or platinum leaf moon) at 6 o’clock.
