The new MeisterSinger Kaenos Collection (Incl. Silberstein editions) Debuts With an Integrated Bracelet

Still single-handed, the new Kaenos collection is the new daily driver of MeisterSinger.

For almost 25 years, MeisterSinger has been our number one source for everything single-hand timepieces. It’s not even a signature for the brand, it’s a fundamental purpose, an inescapable feature to be found on all its watches – without or with additional complications. This deliberate choice to indicate the time without the frenetic minute and second hands, in a more relaxed way, gave the brand a strong identity. As we approach Watches and Wonders 2025, where the brand will exhibit for the first time, MeisterSinger explores new territories with the Kaenos Collection, a new family of watches defined by a sportier look, a sporty-chic vibe and, of course, an indispensable integrated bracelet that has been the main trend of the past 4 to 5 years.

Like so many brands in the past few years, MeisterSinger is embracing the concept of the elegant steel sports watch with an integrated bracelet and a clear 1970s vibe – even though, in the present case, there’s no vintage inspiration or references to the past, MeisterSinger being born in the early 2000s. The Kaenos is thus an exercise of design to meet the current demand for daily-oriented watches, mixing a certain elegance necessary for business matters, and yet enough robustness for weekend activities and active life.

The MeisterSinger Kaenos, which name is derived from the Greek word “kainos” – which means new or fresh – is built around a barrel-shaped central case measuring 40mm in diameter, with a traditional round bezel on top – no octagonal or notched bezel with screws that could lead to a copycat feeling here. The case features the classic combination of brushed surfaces and polished accents on the edges, which is essential in the category, and a well-proportioned crown adorned with the fermata symbol from the MeisterSinger logo. The watch boasts a comfortable 100m water-resistance, meaning it is well protected in any everyday situation, but also during sportier moments of the week.

A defining element of the sporty-chic category, the MeisterSinger Kaenos is worn on an integrated steel bracelet that flows seamlessly into the case. It relies on H-shaped brushed links with polished lateral bevels and polished rectangular central links – a classic design. It is closed by a folding clasp with push-button release.

MeisterSinger’s new collection is released in two versions, the Kaenos and the Kaenos Open Date. The first relies on a single hand to indicate the hours and the minutes, to the closest 5-minute interval – signature display of the brand – together with a circular date at 6 o’clock. The Kaenos Open Date uses a display identical to the brand’s Peripgraph collection, meaning a central single hand combined to a recessed circular aperture revealing a date discs rotating on a lower level. On both, the dial is a so-called sandwich architecture – two superimposed layers, with the numerals and hour markers of the upper layer neatly cut out to reveal a second, luminous layer underneath. The newly designed hour hand, in black or brushed grey depending on the dial, is also luminous. The Kaenos and the Kaenos Open Date are available in four versions, a matte black dial, or a sunray-brushed dial in light gray, ice blue, or petrol blue.

The classic MeisterSinger Kaenos is powered by the Sellita SW400, a recent automatic movement with a significantly larger diameter – allowing for the date to be larger and closer to the edge of the dial. The Kaenos Open Date relies on the Sellita SW200, a well-known automatic movement based on the ETA 2824 architecture. Both run at 4Hz and store about 38h of power reserve. They are visible through a sapphire caseback secured by 4 screws.

Available as part of the permanent collection as of April 1st, 2025, the MeisterSinger Kaenos retails for EUR 2,650 and the Kaenos Open Date for EUR 2,950.

MeisterSinger X Alain Silberstein Kaenos models

In addition to the standard collection described above, the brand is also releasing its first collaboration with horological designer and artist Alain Silberstein – one of the most prolific designers around, with countless special editions. Based on the same architecture as the MeisterSinger Kaenos and Kaenos Open Date, the limited editions stand apart on the dial side, with the distinctive use of geometric shapes and primary colours dear to Silberstein.

Both editions have a jet-black dial providing great contrast for the specific details that Silberstein has created, starting with the reinterpretation of the central hand, a strong triangle in striking red. The hand follows a bolder minute track with printed hour numerals, with applied gold indexes at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. Silberstein has replaced the quarter-hour markers with fine dots. But most importantly, the MeisterSinger X Alain Silberstein are not single-handed watches anymore, as they now feature a central seconds hand.

While the model based on the Kaenos Open Date is rather close to its standard counterpart with the recessed date disc in the centre, the other model, named Grand Date, stands apart from the classic Kaenos with a square date windown and a golden, recessed inner circle. On the back, the rotor has been personalized in black and gold. Each version is limited to 225 pieces, available either from specialist retailers or directly from MeisterSinger in early April and priced respectively at EUR 4,100 or EUR 4,400.
