The Exotic Perrelet Turbine Pink Flamingo
Calling all fans of the 1980s hit TV series Miami Vice; this Turbine has your name on it.

An unusual phenomenon in the watch world, there have been two official sightings of flamingos since the beginning of the year. The first was in January with Tudor’s Black Bay Flamingo Blue, named after a mythical, non-existent colour of the Phoenicopterus. The second is Perrelet’s new Turbine Pink Flamingo, appropriately attired in the more habitual pink colour of the wading bird’s plumage. The mesmerising display of the Turbine’s spinning blades has been one of the most successful models in the brand’s repertoire. True to its namesake, the dial of the new Flamingo model puts on a dynamic pink and black show inspired by the over-the-top pastel styling of the 1980s hit TV series Miami Vice.
Perrelet’s patented Double Rotor of 1995, which features a second rotor on the dial connected to the rear rotor in the automatic movement, led to the development of the Turbine concept in 2009. Fitted with a free-spinning upper rotor inspired by the propellers of a jet turbine and rotating at full speed with your wrist movements, the 12 black anodised aluminium blades fitted with five tungsten counterweights reveal flashes of the lower dial.
In line with the demand for more compact watch sizes, Perrelet presents the Turbine Pink Flamingo in a 41mm matte black DLC titanium case with 100m water-resistance and a height of 13.9mm. The lightweight case material, the fluted recessed areas on the case flanks and the geometric lugs securing the pink rubber strap underscore its contemporary appeal.
The spectacle is guaranteed as the black propellers on the dial spin to reveal the lower dial with its pink flamingo turbine. The faster the Turbine spins, the more areas of the sub-dial it reveals. A time-only model, the luminescent and raised Arabic numerals and hour markers are placed on the peripheral track along with the minutes. The hour and minute hands are also treated with Super-LumiNova, and the central seconds hand is picked out in bright pink.
As part of the Festina Group since 2004, Perrelet benefits from movements produced by its sister company, Soprod. This Turbine model is equipped with the calibre P-331-MH, an in-house automatic movement with COSC and Chronofiable chronometer certification. Its regulating organ beats at 28,800vph, and the single barrel delivers a 42-hour power reserve.
The Perrelet Turbine Pink Flamingo is now available at official retailers worldwide and on the brand’s website (Europe and US only). It retails for CHF 4,980, EUR 4,980, and USD 5,250.
