Elka Watch Co. Celebrates Black and White with Its Latest S Series Monochrome Editions

At MONOCHROME, we have a soft spot for… well, monochrome. The balance of light and shadow on a dial, the quiet elegance of a perfect photograph… something about removing colour to reveal form, texture, and contrast that we find so immensely appealing. So when we learned that Elka Watch Co., the young Swiss brand known for its soulful, 1960s-inspired designs, was teaming up with photographer Christian Coigny, one of Switzerland’s masters of black-and-white imagery, we were all ears. And while these new Elka Watch Co. S Series Monochrome Editions have objectively a great name, we’ve nothing to do with them…

“Noir et Blanc” is an exhibition and a pair of watches that celebrate the purest aesthetic language: monochrome. Hosted at Espace Diorama in Geneva from November 4 to December 10, 2025, the show brings together Coigny’s analogue artistry (real film, real darkroom work) with Elka’s mechanical craft. 

For the occasion, Elka unveils two special editions of its classic, ultra-sleek time-only watch, the S Series Monochrome Editions. The Black Edition is a full immersion in shadow, where every surface absorbs light in deep, dramatic tones, and the White Edition is a minimalist study in brightness and form, capturing the serenity of pure light. Each comes in 40.8mm or 36mm cases, topped with a domed sapphire crystal, and powered by the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement with a 68-hour reserve. The design remains faithful to Elka’s vintage cues but channels the spirit of Coigny’s photography, where every curve and reflection counts.

Limited to 100 pieces per model, the Elka Watch Co. Monochrome Editions will be available for exclusive pre-sale at Espace Diorama throughout the exhibition, with deliveries set for mid-December. Price is CHF 1,855 (Swiss taxes included) per model.
