The New Bovet Récital 30 World Timer

Relying on the technical mastery of the Récital 28, the Récital 30 makes tracking the world time simple.

Introduced last year, the Bovet Récital 28 Prowess 1 tackled one of the biggest challenges of traditional world timers – Daylight Saving Time (DST) – while incorporating a perpetual calendar with roller-based indications and a flying tourbillon. Powered by a movement delivering an impressive 10-day power reserve, it was housed in a 46.3mm Dimier Writing Desk case and came with a CHF 650,000 price tag. Now, Bovet introduces the Récital 30, featuring the same ingenious world timer system with its 24 city rollers, but with a more streamlined approach. However, calling it a simpler version would be unfair – the brand prefers to describe it as “an everyday evolution”.

The Bovet Récital 30 also marks a milestone for Bovet’s in-house case production. All titanium cases are now entirely crafted in Bovet’s Tramelan workshops, while red gold cases will follow from 2026 onwards. The Récital 30 case is 42mm in diameter and 12.9mm thick. It is topped with an ultra-domed sapphire crystal and an exhibition caseback – a signature feature Bovet pioneered in the 1800s to showcase its exquisitely engraved movements. Two pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock flank the cabochon-set crown, allowing easy adjustment of time zones and the 24-hour world time dial.

On the dial of the Récital 30, the world time rollers take centre stage, with a day/night indicator linked to local time. The roller system, inherited from the Récital 28, enables adjustment to any of the four annual UTC periods: UTC Coordinated Universal Time – AST, American Summer Time – EAS, European and American Summer Time – EWT, European Winter Time. This ensures all world time zones, including New Delhi, with its unique 30-minute offset, remain accurate year-round.

The Récital 30 is available in two versions, both featuring New Delhi prominently on the dial. New Delhi is marked in black in the Coordinated Universal Time version, with a yellow or red arrow indicator. A colour-matched (yellow or red) additional minutes hand is linked to New Delhi time with its 30-minute offset. The India Collector’s version sets the main hour and minute hands to New Delhi time, coloured in yellow or red, while the world time hours are adjusted accordingly. Meanwhile, the second minutes hand (silver on the titanium version, gold on the 18K red gold version) is linked to global time.

The new Bovet Récital 30 is powered by the R30-70-001 automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 60-hour power reserve. Comprising 373 components, this sophisticated mechanism makes setting world time remarkably simple. The 2 o’clock pusher rotates each roller by 90 degrees, automatically adjusting all 24 time zones to the correct seasonal period. The 4 o’clock pusher advances the central 24-hour world dial by one hour per press, ensuring effortless adjustments.

Designed for versatility and travel-ready comfort, the Récital 30 comes on a rubber strap. Due to production constraints, only 30 pieces will be made this year. Pricing is yet to be confirmed. For more details, visit www.bovet.com.
