Three time zones, a moon phase and a 7-day power reserve make this a refined and highly practical watch for modern travellers.

There is something truly special about Bovet. The singularity of the Maison lies in a distinctive perception of elegance where integrity, craftsmanship and patience are carefully preserved. The brand’s take on the traveller’s watch is no exception. Complex, highly decorated, powerful but also unique in its vision of the multiple time-zone display, let’s have a look at the new Bovet Recital 27.

A practical and highly technical watch, the Bovet Recital 27 stands out with its 3-dimensional design. As seen with some of the most striking recent Bovet creations, the Recital 27 features the characteristically inclined “writing slope” case. Fashioned out of grade 5 titanium or 18k pink gold, it is 46.30mm in diameter and 15.95mm in height.

The local time is logically displayed in the centre. At 3 and 9 o’clock, two sub-dials indicate additional time zones. Each display is chosen from the 24 time zones with the possibility to adjust the corresponding city name. The highly practical mechanism can be adjusted thanks to two sets of two correctors. Located on either side of the case, the corrector in the right-hand side is smartly integrated into the crown cabochon. The city rings can be set independently, this allows you adjusting to Daylight Saving Time and hence to be always accurate! For each additional time zone, the indication of the hours and minutes is complemented with a day/night display.

This practical time-zone indication is paired with a 3D, domed double moon-phase display that shows the lunar cycle for both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Its surface is delicately engraved to evoke the lunar relief; the lower sections are filled with luminescent material. The highly precise mechanism driving the moon-phase indication requires correction only once every 122 years. A blue decor with hand-guilloché hour rings and brand cartouche set the final touch. And as you have come to expect from Bovet, the finishing is top notch.

On the wrist, as you can imagine, this attention-grabbing watch has a strong presence. The “writing slope” case and the 3-dimensional architecture of the openworked mechanism create a striking sense of depth. Still, the Bovet Recital 27 tends to wear smaller than the 46mm diameter would suggest. Turning the watch over, the exhibition caseback offers an unimpeded view on the hand-wound movement with seconds and power reserve indication, with 7 days of energy stored in the movement. The hand-wound calibre 17DM04-3FPL stands out with its symmetrical architecture, fine anglage and circular Geneva stripes.

The Bovet Recital 27 is worn on an alligator leather strap with pin buckle. Bovet offers a 5-year warranty. Only 60 movements will be produced. Last but not least, the city discs can be customized to indicate the city of your choice. Price is set at CHF 66,000 in titanium. For more information, please visit www.bovet.com.
