The New ArtyA Purity Tourbillon Sport Editions
A sapphire-cased flying tourbillon with a configurable colour concept.
Artya is known for not shying away from creativity, boldness and boundary-pushing designs, and proves this once more with its latest release. Following earlier models like the Purity Tourbillon, Purity Stairway to Heaven and Purity Central Tourbillon housed in the brand’s signature sapphire cases, the Geneva-based manufacture now introduces the Purity Tourbillon Sport Edition, a limited series with a more dynamic and personalisable character, retaining the technical foundations of the collection.
The Purity Tourbillon Sport Edition is housed in ArtyA’s distinctive Wavy case, crafted from the perfectly pure sapphire. Measuring 44mm in diameter, the case features complex curved surfaces and exceptional transparency, allowing unobstructed views of the movement from all angles. The case is completed with a screwed sapphire caseback, a sapphire crown, and is water-resistant to 30 metres.
Like previous Purity Tourbillon models, the watch dispenses with a traditional dial, and the movement serves as the visual centrepiece. The asymmetrical layout places the oversized, 18mm flying tourbillon on the left side. Time is indicated by the sword-shaped hours and minutes hands positioned centrally, with a laser-engraved chapter ring on the dial’s periphery. The central seconds, absent on earlier, non-Sport series, adds to the dynamic. On the right, the twin barrels remain fully visible, contributing to the watch’s three-dimensional appearance. The Sport Edition introduces four colours at launch: Deep Red, Luminous Orange, Electric Turquoise and Deep Blue, applied through visible caseback gaskets. Customers can choose a preferred colour at the time of order, and the gaskets can be changed at an Artya retailer to give the watch a new appearance.
The watch is powered by an exclusive ArtyA manufacture calibre PUR-T1 developed with Telos, featuring a fully skeletonised architecture and twin parallel barrels. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and offers 70 hours of autonomy. The calibre exhibits nice finishes throughout; its skeletonised bridges feature pronounced hand-polished bevels, and the barrels are decorated with engravings.
Each watch is delivered with a strap matching the colour of the visible caseback gasket. As mentioned, the strap and gasket can be replaced through authorised retailers. The ArtyA Purity Tourbillon Sport Edition is produced in a limited edition of 9 pieces, priced at CHF 130,000.

Neat. Is it better than the Chinese? Will it last longer?
