The New Armin Strom One Week Manufacture Edition

A sleek and stylish anthracite canvas for Armin Strom's sportiest watch to date.

A little under a year ago, revered independent watchmakers Armin Strom relaunched a watch that has been vital in the brand’s watchmaking activities since Claude Greisler and Serge Michel took the company’s reins. Known as the One Week, this watch will run for a full week, literally, when it’s kept wound. Introduced as a First Edition with a summery fresh blue tone on the mainplate and bridges, the One Week returns with an anthracite PVD-coated movement as the Manufacture Edition enters the collection.

The revamped One Week debuted in a more edgy and sporty attire, in line with the Orbit, for instance, meant to serve as the new direction for the brand in both aesthetics and mechanics. But you’ll be happy to learn it’s still very much an Armin Strom, so it’s a rather distinctive design fitted with original movements made and finished in-house! While the First Edition was limited to 25 pieces, this new One Week Manufacture Edition ups that to 100 pieces. All will have a brushed and polished 41mm wide stainless steel case with flat crystals front and back, a pair of guards for the screw-down crown, and an integrated stainless steel bracelet. So far, nothing has changed.

Bascially, the only update over the inaugural version of the One Week is the colour. Gone is the fresh, summery blue and in comes a stylish anthracite attire. This strongly enhances contrasts within the in-house calibre ARM21, as an anthracite mainplate, a black minute ring and small seconds sub-dial and darkened bridges for the conical power reserve indication mechanism offset the exposed mechanics upfront. The signature finger bridges, exquisitely finished as always, are brushed and bevelled and cover the double barrel system that gives the One Week its lengthy 7-day running time. The back reveals a balance wheel and running gear set over the dark canvas, with a three-quarter plate finished with Côtes de Genève.

As mentioned, the Armin Strom One Week Manufacture Edition is limited to 100 pieces and will retail for CHF 32,000 / USD 33,600 / GBP 31,700 / EUR 37,100. It’s available directly from Armin Strom or through the brand’s network of authorized retailers around the globe.
