Independent Watchmaker Krayon Unveils Anyday, a Mechanical Agenda on the Wrist
Krayon introduces what's claimed to be the first mechanical planner watch to cover an entire month at a glance.

Founded almost a decade ago by Rémi Maillat, independent watchmaker Krayon has made a name for itself with its unique style, never-before-seen complications and meticulous craftsmanship. Unveiled in 2017, Everywhere, Rémi Maillat’s inaugural creation, was the first watch capable of displaying sunrise and sunset times everywhere around the globe. Then came Anywhere in 2020. A simpler version of the concept, Anywhere retains the core functionality of Everywhere, yet the location cannot be changed by its user via the crown, but it can be adjusted quite simply by a watchmaker. Just ahead of Watches & Wonders 2025, Krayon unveils its latest creation, a surprising calendar watch named Anyday.
If its core functionality differs completely from Everywhere and Anywhere, Anyday remains Krayon through and through, with an innovative complication (a mechanical agenda providing the day-date indication for any day of the current month), an unmistakable look and state-of-the art finishing.
At first glance, the design of the new Krayon Anyday will look very familiar to anyone acquainted with the creations of the independent watchmaking atelier and Rémi Maillat. However, its original complication requires a bit of explanation first. Anyday is a mechanical agenda consisting of a pointer date travelling at the periphery of the dial, where different colours allow you to figure out at a glance what day of the week you are referring to.
Basically, the first 5 days of the week are displayed in one colour and the 2 weekend days in contrasting colour. This allows you to immediately check the day and date, not only for the current day but also for any day of the current month. Need to know the date of the last weekend of the month? The answer can be read immediately on your wrist. In short, it’s a practical complication that’s never been seen before.
If the Krayon Anyday may seem simple at first glance, there’s more than meets the eye. Its straightforward display involves complex mechanics. The day and date are displayed thanks to superimposed discs at the periphery of the dial – a Krayon signature feature already seen with Everywhere and Anywhere. All indications are synchronized and based on a 31-day month length, so you will need to adjust your watch 5 times a year – which can be made in seconds via the crown. The day indication is calibrated on 35 days, the smaller 7-day multiple after 31. At the end of the month, this 5-week cycle involves triggering a 4-day jump of the day disk to keep track of the week cycles.
This synoptic view is made possible by the use of two cams working in tandem and visible at the back of the case. The smaller one on the left makes a full rotation once a day to control the date jump (in 1/1000th of a second). The larger snail cam completes a rotation in 31 days to make the day wheel jump 4 positions once a month. Both are driven from the center wheel, and each drives its own gear train paired with complex sets of levers and springs to ensure a sharp function.
All adjustments are performed simply via the 3-position crown. Position 1 is used to wind the movement. The intermediate position 2 allows you to set the date in one direction and the day in the other, making adjustments straightforward. Last, position 3 is used to set the hours and minutes in either direction. The day-date adjustment mechanism required pretty complex solutions. To enable correcting the date or the days, a sliding gear is used. It moves up and down to mesh with one correction train or the other. To make sure this function is not affected by gravity, a slight pressure is exerted on this wheel.
Altogether, the sophisticated mechanism comprises no fewer than 378 parts. It can be admired through the caseback. The overall architecture is immediately reminiscent of the Krayon style. The base movement is the same as the Everywhere model, so it uses the same barrel, gear train and regulator. It runs at a 3Hz frequency and stores 72 hours of power reserve. As you have come to expect from Krayon, the finishing is immaculate, with beautiful polishing and chamfers throughout and characteristic deep, curvy waves – not to mention that checking the cams-and-levers function when adjusting the date is truly captivating.
Anyday comes in a characteristic Krayon design language. At 39mm x 9.5mm, the elegant 18k white gold case is the same as Anywhere. There again, it is surprisingly compact, given the complexity of the movement. Its finely guilloched dial with two superimposed discs at its periphery is very familiar, too. So does the blue colour scheme of the watches. Altogether, everything looks very consistent with the brand DNA: the creation of an original, practical, never-seen-before complication, the overall look of the watch, and the meticulous finishings involved in its making.
The Krayon Anyday is worn on a grained calfskin leather strap closed by a pin buckle, and comes with quick-release spring bars. The price is set at CHF 88,000. More details at krayon.ch.
