Hamilton Unveils new Khaki Field Model for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, In-Game and on the Wrist

When it comes to watch inspirations, automotive and aviation themes have long been part of the game. Video games, however, are catching up. We have already seen retro legends like Donkey Kong and Mario find their way onto dials, Seiko team up with Street Fighter V, and, just a few months ago, Omega brought the Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph into the world of 007 First Light. Hamilton is no stranger to video-game watches either, having previously teamed up with Far Cry 6 and Resident Evil Requiem. Now, it returns to Call of Duty with the Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm x Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4.

This watch follows last year’s Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38mm made for Call of Duty Black Ops 7. Hamilton has taken up the hand-wound Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm for the new special edition, and the exciting bit is that it is worn by Captain Price in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4. The design gets a dark treatment, with a sandblasted black PVD case and a heavily grained black dial.

One look is pretty much enough to tell that this is a Call of Duty special edition. At 4 o’clock, the numeral uses the same font as the Modern Warfare 4 logo, with the yellow accents also taken from it. Keeping the compact proportions of the standard Khaki Field Mechanical, the steel case measures 38mm across and just 9.5mm thick. The black PVD coating extends to the engraved caseback, where Hamilton has added the instantly recognisable Modern Warfare soundwave. It is finished with a khaki green textile strap and a black PVD pin buckle, completing the military-watch look.

There is some historical reasoning behind the design too. Hamilton says the Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm x Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 draws from its military timepieces, particularly the General Service watches supplied to the British military. That makes sense for Captain Price, who served with the Special Air Service (SAS) and later became a key member of Task Force 141.

Inside the Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm x Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 is Hamilton’s hand-wound H-50. It is based on the ETA 2801, the manual-winding sibling of the 2824, but it gets the longer running time seen in the Powermatic 80 family. This movement beats at 21,600 vibrations/hour and offers an 80-hour power reserve, while a Nivachron balance spring provides increased resistance to magnetic fields.
