The New Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue
The brand adds a bit of colour to its cool monochromatic Ultra-Cermet chronograph series.
Designed as a “weekend watch for a Parmigiani customer” and comprising the time-and-date Automatic and Chronograph lines, with both date and no-date configurations in exciting colour combinations, the Tonda PF Sport collection (introduced in 2023) added an Ultra-Cermet model in 2025, bringing something genuinely new to high-end watchmaking. With it, Parmigiani Fleurier became the first manufacture to build not just a case, but almost every external component of a watch in this sophisticated composite used in demanding industrial applications. One year later, the brand now expands the offering with the new Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue, keeping the watch’s technical identity but changing the monochromatic aesthetic of earlier Milano Blue or London Grey Ultra-Cermet chrono references.
Unlike conventional ceramics, Ultra-Cermet is a hybrid material composed of ceramic and approximately 40% titanium. It combines the hardness (rated at approximately 1,450 Vickers) and scratch resistance of ceramic with the cool touch, metallic appearance and structural characteristics of metal. Its manufacturing process is based on sintering, in which ultra-fine ceramic and titanium powders are compressed under heat and pressure without reaching their melting point. The material is then machined using diamond tooling, allowing Parmigiani to create thin, complex components with exceptional precision.
The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet 42.5mm, 72-component case, measuring 13.3mm in height, showcases this engineering achievement. The middle case, the signature fluted bezel, screw-down crown, and chronograph pushers are crafted entirely from Ultra-Cermet. Satin-brushed and polished finishes reveal the material’s changing character, while maintaining the restrained elegance that has become synonymous with the modern Tonda PF collection. Water resistance remains 100m.
This latest edition introduces a new Mineral Blue colourway, combining a Blackor-treated dial surface with the blue subdials’ tones that appear darker or brighter depending on ambient light. The satin finish enhances the sense of refinement and depth. The hand-applied Blackor-plated 18k gold indices and skeletonised gold hands get a bit of lume, while the steel chronograph and small-seconds hands and the applied PF logo continue the dark monochrome theme.
Visible through the sapphire caseback is the manufacture calibre PF070, developed together with sister company Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. This integrated automatic chronograph combines a column-wheel with a vertical clutch, operates at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations/hour and delivers a 65-hour power reserve. Certified by COSC, the movement comprises 288 components and is quite slim at 6.95mm. Decoration includes satin-finished openworked bridges with hand-finished bevels and a skeletonised 22k rose gold rotor finished with polished and sandblasted surfaces.
The new Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue is worn on a matching Mineral Blue textured rubber strap closed with an Ultra-Cermet pin buckle. The watch joins the permanent collection, with a price of CHF 40,400 excl. VAT.

Very nice piece, but 42.5 is too much…
