The latest automotive-inspired MeisterSinger offers its single-hand display, a Ford Mustang Convertible, and a dial based on the car's distinctive wheel design.
MeisterSinger has built most of its catalogue around unhurried, single-hand time-reading. The brand’s latest special edition enters a faster lane, where key indications like the car’s speed are shown with just one hand on traditional displays. Route 66, officially opened in 1926, celebrates its centenary, and MeisterSinger marks the occasion with a limited edition inspired by the highway, the Ford Mustang and the idea of travelling without a fixed destination. Following the VW T1 Restomod and Jaguar E-Type Convertible editions, the Edition Route 66 is the first of the series to use the brand’s larger model as its foundation.
Where the previous automotive editions were based on the 36mm Neo, the Edition Route 66 uses the more substantial No.03, measuring 43mm in diameter and 11.5mm in height. The stainless-steel case retains the model’s clean, functional geometry, with a sapphire crystal to protect the dial. The caseback sapphire crystal carries a semi-transparent print of the historic Route 66 shield. The caseback is secured by six screws and individually engraved with the consecutive number of each watch. Water resistance is 50m.
The watch’s two-layer dial is inspired by the wheels of the Ford Mustang. The lower section is matte black and engraved with fine concentric circles, while the upper layer introduces six silver-white spokes. The MeisterSinger logo is mounted on an oval plaque, with the historic Route 66 emblem positioned in the lower part of the dial. White minute markings line the periphery, with a single red-tipped white hand to indicate the time, and double-digit hours in white positioned closer to the centre.
Behind the themed caseback is the Sellita SW200 automatic movement, with a 28,800 vibrations/hour operating frequency. It provides a 38-hour power reserve. The watch is worn on a black vintage saddle-leather strap with contrasting red stitching, matching the dial’s colour scheme. It is closed with a pin buckle. Each Edition Route 66 is supplied with a 1:18-scale model of a red Ford Mustang Convertible.
The watch and model are housed in a specially designed presentation box depicting Route 66 and its desert landscape. The MeisterSinger Edition Route 66 is limited to just 100 pieces, and it retails for EUR 2,390, including VAT.
