Founded in 1884, Bvlgari is the Roman jeweller par excellence. Watches have always formed part of the line-up – including the celebrated Serpenti watches of the 1940s – but were truly consolidated as a Bvlgari speciality in 1977 with the launch of the Bvlgari-Bvlgari model followed by the acquisition of Daniel Roth and Gérald Genta brands. Today Bvlgari has a sophisticated, vertically-integrated manufacture in Switzerland and produced its first in-house movement – calibre 168 – in 2010. Acknowledged as a premier watchmaker and positioned to become one of the leading watch brands on the scene, Bvlgari has broken record after record in the battle for ultra-thin watches with the intrepid and defiantly modern Octo Finissimo family. In 2011, LVMH acquired a majority stake in Bvlgari.
