Akhor is an independent watchmaking brand that made its debut less than a year ago at Geneva Watch Days 2025. The brand introduced itself with a particularly intriguing collection and concept built around the idea of “time in balance”, rooted in a highly original vision of time itself. At its core lies a proprietary movement. The project was orchestrated by Anissa Bader, the brand’s co-founder and CEO, who is also the chairman of Clamax, a movement parts supplier based on the outskirts of Geneva. Clamax played an essential technical role in the development and industrialisation of the movement powering the watch, contributing significantly to its mechanical sophistication and execution. The maison is now introducing two significant steps in its development. The first is a new concept called “A Two Beats Choice”, featuring dials that combine two different colours in refined and highly expressive compositions. Secondly, the watches – and the movement powering Akhor’s creations – are now officially certified with the Poinçon de Genève, placing Akhor within a highly exclusive circle of Geneva-based horlogerie manufactures complying with its demanding standards of craftsmanship and finishing.

The Akhor Le Temps en Équilibre – Time in Balance – was born from a poetic vision of time and its fleeting nature. This singular timepiece reveals the hours and minutes only partially, as if suspended in motion. Its elusive indications evoke the idea that time can never truly be grasped in full. Much like the mysterious clocks of the past, it does more than measure time – it invites contemplation of its mystery. From a technical standpoint, the concept is made possible by a patented system developed by Clamax, a Geneva-based watch component manufacturer founded in the 1980s and Akhor’s production partner. The watch features a two-level dial architecture in which the hour and minute hands rotate beneath an upper dial plate around a central axis, appearing only partially as they pass.

The collection is now enriched and extended through a concept called “A Two Beats Choice”, through which the two levels of the dial can now be combined in contrasting colours rather than exclusively tone-on-tone executions. Structured around two interacting discs, the dial comes alive through a subtle play of balances and visual tensions in constant evolution, further reinforcing the poetic dimension of the watch.

Le Temps en Équilibre is housed in an elegant cushion-shaped case measuring a versatile 39mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness. Inside beats the proprietary hand-wound calibre AK10, a generously proportioned 31 mm movement operating at 4Hz and equipped with a variable inertia balance. It offers a substantial 60-hour power reserve and features a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time setting. Its refined finishes can be admired at the back of the watch.

A significant evolution also comes from a technical and certification standpoint. The movement and the watch now bear the Poinçon de Genève, one of the most prestigious hallmarks in Swiss watchmaking. Awarded exclusively to watches assembled and regulated in the Canton of Geneva, the certification encompasses stringent criteria relating to the movement’s construction, finishing, reliability, and the overall quality of the finished watch. Certain aspects of the movement have been upgraded to comply with the rules of the Geneva Seal (for example, the hairspring stud was redesigned). In addition, Le Temps en Équilibre is also a certified chronometer (certified by COSC and/or Timelab), attesting to the chronometric precision of the movement according to the independent Swiss chronometer testing authority.

Besides this “A Two Beats Choice” concept, the brand also introduces a semi-personalisation approach that allows clients to combine colours and materials according to their preferences in the frame of the dialogue with the brand, which is all the more welcome with the added possibilities offered by this two-tone multi-level dial architecture.

The Akhor Le Temps en Equilibre comes on a hand-stitched alligator or calfskin leather strap. It is secured to the wrist by a folding buckle matching the material of the case. The watch retails from CHF 28,000 in steel and CHF 57,800 in gold. For more information, please visit www.akhor.ch.
