Chopard has been the World Sponsor and Official Timekeeper of the Mille Miglia since 1988, and the collection bearing the race’s name has evolved continuously since then. This year, Chopard returns to the compact Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph design introduced in 2023 with three country-exclusive editions inspired by historic national racing colours.

The use of national colours dates to the earliest years of international motor racing. During the Gordon Bennett Cup era at the beginning of the 20th century, participating countries adopted distinctive colours to identify their cars. France raced in blue, Britain in green and Germany initially in white, later becoming associated with the bare-metal silver of the famous Silver Arrows (and red for Italy, red and yellow for Spain, yellow for Belgium, white and red for Japan, and so on). Chopard now brings these three historic liveries to its Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph.

All three watches share the same 40.5mm case introduced with the redesigned Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph in 2023. Measuring 12.88mm thick, it is crafted from Chopard’s proprietary Lucent Steel, an alloy developed for greater hardness and a brighter appearance than conventional steel. Alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces, along with the familiar automotive details, remain. The chronograph pushers are knurled to evoke brake pedals, and the notched crown, engraved with a steering-wheel motif, offers improved grip. A box-shaped sapphire crystal reinforces the retro character. Water-resistance is 50m.

The British Racing Green edition features a galvanic green dial with a circular satin finish, with white transfers and rhodium-plated hands. The familiar tricompax layout places the small seconds at 3 o’clock, the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, the 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock, and the date between 4 and 5 o’clock. A red-tipped chronograph seconds hand and the Mille Miglia arrow logo are the only bright accents. The watch is worn on a dark green rubber strap with the tyre-tread pattern inspired by 1960s Dunlop racing tyres.

The French Limited Edition is a bit more vibrant, referencing the French tricolour flag. The varnished blue dial features silver-toned counters, with white and red details. Red hands animate the chronograph counters and central chronograph seconds. The silvered tachymeter scale frames the display. The blue rubber tyre-tread strap completes the colour scheme. Appropriately, the watch debuted at the 2026 Salon Rétromobile in Paris.

Finally, the German-exclusive Speed Silver edition is about the Silver Arrows era. Its silver opaline dial features grey and black markings, and this near-monochromatic appearance is again punctuated by the red tip of the chronograph seconds hand and the Mille Miglia logo. Unlike the French and British versions, it is worn on a perforated black calfskin strap with grey stitching.

The sapphire casebacks distinguish the three editions by their crossed-flag motifs. Each combines a black-and-white chequered racing flag with the national flag of France, the UK or Germany. Through the crystal, the modular automatic chronograph movement is visible. Based on the ETA A322-11, it is COSC-certified, runs at 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivers a 54-hour power reserve.

The Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph British Racing Green, French Limited Edition and Speed Silver are each numbered editions of 100 pieces, exclusive to the United Kingdom, France and Germany, and priced at GBP 8,050, EUR 11,100 and EUR 11,300, respectively.
