The 2026 Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio-Blu Racing Edition
A virile GTS contender revs its engine at the start line of the 44th edition of the iconic Mille Miglia race.
As the official sponsor and timekeeper of the historic Mille Miglia since 1988, Chopard enjoys one of the longest-running partnerships between a watch brand and a car event. The brand’s Mille Miglia collection is the watchmaking extension of co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele’s lifelong passion for the classic Italian road race. With the 44th edition taking place from 9 – 13 June, Chopard unveils a new edition of its Mille Miglia GTS Power Control, the more contemporary arm of the collection, with a Grigio-Blu (blue-grey) dial inspired by racing car dashboards.
The GTS (Gran Turismo Sport) line, introduced in 2015, is represented by the automatic time-and-date, chronograph and Power Control, which stands out for its distinctive power-reserve display on the dial, inspired by analogue dashboard fuel gauges. Like other GTS Power Control models, the 100m water-resistant case is large, with a diameter of 43mm and a thickness of 11.43mm, but the short, downward-curving lugs make the watch wear smaller than its statistics suggest.
The 2026 edition comes in the brand’s proprietary 80% recycled Lucent Steel, decorated with alternating brushed and polished finishes. In line with the collection’s automotive spirit, the screw-down crown, flanked by crown guards, features an engraved steering wheel on its cap. The fixed bezel with a thin graduated 60-minute / 60-second scale has a black aluminium insert. Instead of shiny ceramic, the aluminium insert gives the watch a more vintage vibe.
The 2026 Grigio-Blu edition features a bold bluish-grey-coloured dial with a pronounced grained finish that evokes the texture of asphalt. The applied metallic hour markers and oversized Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock are filled with black Super-LumiNova, matching the broad, faceted hour and minute hands. The colour scheme continues on the flange with its black background and grey markers, as well as the signature power reserve indicator on the left. Racy red accents, on the tip of the central seconds hand, the “E” empty zone of the power reserve, and the 1000 Miglia arrow pointing to the date window at 3 o’clock add a touch of colour. The red arrow is a replica of the vintage road sign of the Brescia-Rome course.
The sapphire crystal on the caseback is secured by eight screws and reveals the COSC chronometer-certified automatic movement. With a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the calibre 01.08-C will keep the hours, minutes, seconds (hacking), power reserve and date functions going for a robust 60 hours. The industrial finish on the movement is pleasant, with a simple pattern on the bridges, polished bevelled angles and an openworked rotor.
The Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio-Blu is paired with a technical black textile strap with a tyre-tread motif on the rubber lining and a Lucent steel folding clasp. It is a limited edition of 250 pieces and retails for EUR 7,940. Available exclusively in Italy and at Chopard boutiques.
