TAG Heuer‘s 2025 overhaul of the Formula 1 collection introduced new, shaped titanium cases, tighter proportions, integrated rubber straps, and crisper dials that pushed the line back to the front of the grid. Timely, as TAG Heuer (under LVMH) also returned as the official timekeeper of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Now the brand presents the new Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna, a mechanical tribute that channels Ayrton Senna’s colours and focus into the collection’s sharper platform. A companion 43mm quartz S/EL-bracelet edition launches alongside it, but as always here, the spotlight is on the automatic.

Purposeful and light, the sandblasted Grade 2 titanium case of the new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna 44mm gets a full black DLC treatment and 200m water-resistance, like the rest of the series. A forged-carbon tachymeter bezel, engraved with Senna’s signature “S” at 12 o’clock, floats over a yellow separation ring that visually “decouples” the bezel from the mid-case. The notched crown and reshaped pushers are DLC-coated for durability, and the yellow-accented crown echoes the dial accents. The engraved caseback shows Senna’s eyes behind the visor: emotive, yes, but it maintains the watch’s solidity.

The lightly sunray-brushed black dial carries the collection’s new, motorsport-inspired geometry: bold, legible indices and hands filled with Super-LumiNova. The tricompax layout is intuitive: a 30-minute counter at 12 with a yellow hand, a 12-hour counter at 6 in Brazil’s blue/green/yellow and running seconds at 9 with the yellow S. A bevelled date is tucked in at 3 o’clock. The yellow-lacquered central chronograph seconds hand holds the palette together without overwhelming the read.

TAG Heuer’s calibre 16 automatic chronograph (a Sellita SW510, using the Valjoux 7750 base architecture) powers the watch, operating at 28,800 vibrations/hour with a 42-hour reserve, cam-actuated, and known for reliability and straightforward service.

The mechanical Senna edition Formula 1 chronograph comes on a bold yellow rubber strap with a black DLC pin buckle. The watch is now available, and its price is CHF 5,550. For more information, please visit tagheuer.com.
