The New Union Glashütte Noramis Date Sport and Noramis Chronograph Sport

A familiar dial colour and a new bracelet give the compelling series a new look.

Union Glashütte, now part of Swatch Group, marks its birth in 1893 when Johannes Dürrstein founded the Uhrenfabrik Union in the heart of Germany’s watchmaking region. Balancing vintage and modern elements with appealing designs and a reasonable price-to-quality ratio, nowadays the brand receives proper attention with releases like last year´s Noramis Chronograph Sport with its gradient dials in blue, anthracite and turquoise, blending retro flair with modern sportiness and solid craftsmanship. This year, Union Glashütte refreshes the Noramis Chronograph Sport and Noramis Date Sport variants. Both models feature the familiar gradient blue dial, now paired with a sleek stainless steel bracelet for a new, versatile look.

The new Noramis Date Sport comes in a 42mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 12.85mm. It features a fluted rotating bezel with a black ceramic diving scale insert, plus sapphire crystals on both sides, with the screwed caseback. The watch is water-resistant up to 200 meters.

The deep blue gradient dial is accented with applied arrowhead-shaped nickel hour markers (except at noon, where it is marked as 12) treated with Super-LumiNova, Super-LumiNova hands, and a luminous triangle on the bezel for easy legibility. A date window at 3 o’clock adds everyday practicality; the logo and series name are placed symmetrically on the dial.

The watch is powered by the automatic UNG-07.SI calibre with a silicon balance spring and indexless regulation. Beating at 25,200 vibrations per hour, it offers a robust 60-hour power reserve. Completing the package is a newly introduced stainless steel bracelet with a double-folding clasp and push buttons. While a mesh bracelet has been offered on earlier models, this new option enhances the collection’s overall adaptability and style. It is priced at EUR 2,550.

The Noramis Chronograph Sport with the blue gradient dial is the same model worn on a strap we reviewed last year; the only difference is the added bracelet. The watch is 200m water-resistant, has a 43mm diameter by 15.82mm thick stainless steel case, and the dial features snailed sub-dials at 3 o’clock for the minutes and 9 o’clock for the running seconds, the latter incorporating a trapezoidal date aperture to match the shape of the hour indices.

The Noramis Chronograph Sport is powered by the self-winding UNG-27.S2 cam-actuated chronograph movement (Valjoux 7750 base); it incorporates a silicon balance spring and provides a power reserve of 65 hours while operating at a 28,800 vibrations/hour frequency. It is priced at EUR 3,750.
