The Defy Skyline collection by Zenith has quickly become the modern pillar of the brand’s angular, integrated, and technical sports collection. We’ve seen the series stretch into complications and materials, most notably last year’s steel and black ceramic Skyline Tourbillons built around the high-frequency El Primero calibre 3630. The latest chapter elevates form and finish. For the first time, the Defy Skyline Tourbillon is crafted entirely in rose gold, paired with a new brick-red dial that pays homage to the red-and-white brickwork of Zenith’s historic manufacture in Le Locle.

The case keeps the Skyline’s signature geometry: a sharply faceted, integrated 41mm architecture with a 12-sided bezel, now rendered in warm, satin-brushed and polished 18k rose gold. A screwed-in crown preserves a practical 100-metre water-resistance, an intention to make this as much a daily-wear tourbillon as a showcase item. The surfaces are well defined, and the alternating finishes amplify the case’s planes and edges, giving the precious metal both visual lightness and presence.

On the dial, just as last year´s Defy Skyline Tourbillon references, instead of the collection’s usual pattern, a field of engraved four-pointed stars radiates outward from the tourbillon aperture at six o’clock, drawing the eye to the regulator without overwhelming the display. The sunray brick-red tone links the watch to the manufacturer’s façade. Rose gold faceted hands and applied hour indices are treated with Super-LumiNova for clean, legible contrast against the deep red ground.

The El Primero 3630, an in-house automatic tourbillon calibre, runs at a 5Hz frequency (or 36,000 vibrations/hour), a rate few tourbillons match. The carriage completes one rotation every 60 seconds and weighs just 0.25 grams, a testament to miniaturisation and balance. The power reserve is rated 50 hours. Through the display back, the movement continues the dial’s theme with a contemporary, 3D laser-engraved Côtes de Genève-like pattern radiating from the tourbillon. For the first time in a Skyline, the newly designed openworked rotor is also fashioned in rose gold, its mass and finish complementing the architecture while leaving much of the calibre on view.

The watch is offered on an integrated rose-gold H-link bracelet with a folding clasp and is sold with a second strap in brick-red rubber. Zenith’s quick-change system allows tool-free swaps in seconds, letting the watch slide from tailored to casual without losing its character.

The new Defy Skyline Tourbillon in rose gold will be available exclusively through Zenith boutiques (physical and online) and a select network of authorised retailers. Pricing is set at CHF 89,900, EUR 97,400 or USD 93,300. For more information, please visit zenith-watches.com.
