Yema seems to be focused on combining its historic dive watch designs with more sophisticated mechanics, especially since the arrival of the manufacture CMM.20 micro-rotor calibre. Following the Navygraf Slim CMM.20 and the Navygraf Pearl CMM.20, the French brand now introduces a more specialised interpretation of its vintage-inspired diver. Made together with the French Marine Nationale, the new Navygraf Barracuda CMM.20 Limited Edition pays tribute to the Barracuda-class nuclear attack submarines and the submarine forces that operate them. The specs are familiar, yet the Barracuda edition offers a distinctly tactical look, unlike the earlier Navygraf Marine Nationale CMM.10, which featured much more “civilian” blue attire.

The watch retains the compact dimensions of the modern Navygraf. The stainless steel case of the Yema Navygraf Barracuda CMM.20 measures 39mm in diameter and 46mm lug-to-lug, offering a wearable alternative to many contemporary dive watches. It maintains 300m of water resistance, with the screw-down crown and solid construction. The overall design remains faithful to the collection, with angular lugs, integrated crown guards and a unidirectional rotating bezel, here crafted from forged carbon. The 120-click bezel also introduces a detail linked to the watch’s naval inspiration: the first 20 minutes are highlighted in bright red, referencing submarine synchronisation procedures, allowing crews to coordinate timed operations at a glance.

On the dial, the same red accent appears in the Barracuda signature at 6 o’clock, adding contrast against the dark surface whose compressed carbon fibres create a unique marbled pattern on every watch. Large applied indices and the broad hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, and the oversized arrow-style red minutes hand stands out as the primary diving indication.

The military theme continues on the reverse. Instead of a conventional sapphire caseback, the Navygraf Barracuda features a red-tinted sapphire crystal inspired by the red lighting used inside submarines during night operations, helping preserve the crew’s night vision. The caseback bears the insignia of the French Navy’s submarine forces.

The watch is powered by Yema’s calibre CMM.20, designed, manufactured, and assembled in the brand’s workshops in Morteau, France. Developed with movement specialist Olivier Mory, this automatic calibre combines French manufacturing with components sourced locally in France and neighbouring Switzerland, features a tungsten micro-rotor, and delivers a 70-hour power reserve. Running at 28,800 vibrations/hour, it is regulated to an accuracy of -3/+7 seconds per day.

The watch can be worn on a black NATO strap for a tactical look, or on a steel bracelet with a micro-adjust clasp. Like the rest of Yema’s manufacture collection, the Navygraf Barracuda is backed by a five-year international warranty. Production is limited to 400 pieces.

The Yema Navygraf Barracuda CMM.20 Limited Edition is available now, priced at EUR 2,249 (strap) or EUR 2,499 (bracelet), retaining the strong value proposition of Yema’s French-made micro-rotor movement. For more information, visit yema.com.
