Since its debut in 2023, Vulcain’s Skindiver Nautique has quickly moved from a niche revival piece to a regular part of the brand’s present-day catalogue. These watches draw inspiration from Vulcain’s 1960s skin-diving models. Back then, diving as a hobby was gaining popularity, and compact, practical dive watches like the Nautique felt at home both in and out of the water. Today, that same design leaves plenty of room for new interpretations.

One of the latest is the Skindiver Nautique Meteorite, which introduces a meteorite dial. Sitting in the competitive sub-USD 3,000 diver segment, this new watch will be produced as a limited edition of 100 pieces.

The dial uses pieces of Muonionalusta, an iron meteorite discovered in Sweden. Once cut and treated, the surface reveals the familiar Widmanstätten pattern, giving the dial a silvery-grey look marked by irregular geometric lines, so no two pieces appear exactly the same. At the same time, the Skindiver Nautique Meteorite retains all the traits of a proper underwater tool watch, with polished silver hands and indexes filled with Super-LumiNova for strong legibility. A unidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic insert and contrasting white markers completes the classic dive watch layout.

The rest of the watch follows the familiar Skindiver Nautique design. The 316L stainless steel case features vertically brushed surfaces and measures 38mm in diameter with a thickness of 12.2mm, keeping the proportions typical of 1960s skin-divers. On the back of the Skindiver Nautique Meteorite sits a polished stainless steel caseback. The watch is water-resistant to a depth of 200 metres. Powering this Skindiver Nautique is the ETA 2824 automatic movement, operating at 4Hz and offering a power reserve of around 38 hours, driving the hours, minutes, and a central seconds display.

To style the Skindiver Nautique Meteorite, you can choose between a Tropic-style rubber strap or a stainless steel bracelet. Prices start at CHF 1,790 on a rubber strap and CHF 2,050 on the steel bracelet. For more information, please visit www.vulcain.ch.

  1. So basically they slapped a Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea dial on the Oris Divers Sixty-Five and that’s that? I am seriously wondering who’s going to spend money on this.
