vintage Longines Legend Diver

In the long, long wait for Longines to release the Legend Diver on the Dutch market i look for pictures and stories of happy owners of this beautiful watch. At Watchprosite i found a very interesting article about the vintage dive watch from Longines that has obviously inspired the designers to develop the new Legend Diver.

If you like to see more pictures and read the review of this vintage beauty, than click here to go to the post on watchprosite.

The cross hatched crowns are the signature of EPSA – Ervin Piquerez S.A, and usually also carried a stylized diving helmet stamped on the inside of the case back. These were Super Compressor cases used by a lot of companies, designed so that the seal became tighter at greater depths. To me, that’s what made these watches. Many used a ETA 2472 automatic movement, but it’s the case that I personally covet and collect. There were single crown super compressors as well on lots of ‘waterproof’ sport watches.
