A New Grey Colourway for the Union Glashütte Belisar Chronograph

This latest addition to the Belisar lineup is a nice blend of heritage, modernity, and performance.

Union Glashütte, a brand owned by the Swatch Group, is known for crafting reliable timepieces that blend emotional appeal with good value. One of the notable collections is the Belisar Chronograph series, which combines retro inspiration with modern performance and design. The latest addition to this lineup stays true to the specifications of its predecessors. Still, it introduces a grey dial with black and red accents, giving it a decidedly contemporary edge – making it one of the brand’s most modern-looking recent releases in the series.

The new Union Glashütte Belisar Chronograph retains its bold presence with a 44mm stainless steel case, 15.01mm thickness, and a lug-to-lug measurement of 52.99mm. Topped with a sapphire crystal – AR-coated on both sides – it also features a screw-down sapphire caseback and lateral screws. The watch is built for versatility with a good 100m water resistance. Adding to its modern appeal, the pump pushers, engraved with start/stop and reset symbols, complement the signed crown in the same distinctive style.

The silver-grey dial of the new Union Glashütte Belisar Chronograph is functional and full of aesthetic details. A combined tachymeter and pulsometer scale runs along the outer edge, while printed hour indices, accented with Super-LumiNova-printed dots, replace traditional numerals. The matte black subdials, framed by silver-coloured rings, create a contrast, enhancing the watch’s contemporary look. Red accents highlight the chronograph displays, hands, and pulsometer scale, while the nickel-plated hour and minute hands feature Super-LumiNova for optimal readability.

The UNG-27.S1 movement powers the Belisar Chronograph. Based on the ETA Valjoux 7753, this calibre incorporates a silicon balance spring to improve resistance to magnetic fields and offers a 65-hour power reserve.

The watch is offered on a stainless steel bracelet with a quick-change system, allowing for easy strap swaps. The price is EUR 3,100 (VAT included) and the watch joins the permanent collection. For more information, please visit union-glashuette.com.

  1. A bit too big for my wrist yet a nice looking design. To me, the most intriguing benefit is the quick bracelet change design.

  2. Yeah really nice design but chronographs are always way too big for my wrist. Waiting for a non Rolex Daytona to bring out a thin and smaller chronograph under 39mm and 12mm thickness 🙏
