The Extravagant Cvstos Sealiner PS

Stemming from the world of marine life, the Sealine PS is full of nautical details.

Cvstos is a brand that has operated a bit under the radar for us until quite recently, when we shared the Challenge Chrono Sprint and Metropolitan PS collections. Geared towards racing and the competitive world of luxury sports watches, the next collection in line takes to the seas. The Cvstos Sealiner PS, for Petite Seconde, features a myriad of nautically themed details like a wooden deck, a propellor-shaped small seconds indicator and a combination of materials. And for those in doubt, it comes in two sizes too!

The case for the Cvstos Sealiner PS comes in various materials and sizes. It is available in steel, navy blue-coated steel, sky blue-coated steel, blackened steel and even gold. And to top it all off, two-tone variations or diamond-set cases are also an option. The tonneau-shaped case measures 41mm in width x 53.70mm in length or 45mm in width x 59mm in length. Each one is decorated with nautical-inspired engravings and features eight functional screws on the bezel, a double-curved sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown. The final and most extravagant version has a full sapphire crystal case, much like the brand did with the Metropolitan PS.

The skeletonised construction of the dial continues the nautical theme with a wooden deck-like base structure. The hour markers are integrated into the outer flange, and the bottom half is dominated by the Petite Seconde indicator (hence the PS designation). Time is indicated with openworked hour and minute hands in various colours depending on the exact reference, and the skeletonised date disc can be read through a magnifier at 6 o’clock.

Inside ticks the Cvstos CVS410 automatic movement, which has a skeletonised construction. This features 21 jewels, runs at a rate of 28,800vph and offers 42 hours of power reserve. Sapphire apertures in the caseband and a sapphire caseback reveal more details of the movement, including the central winding rotor.

The Cvstos Sealiner PS comes on a shaped rubber strap with a folding clasp. An alligator strap is also an option, and Cvstos matches the colour of the straps to the specific reference. Prices range from CHF 15,600 for the 41mm steel navy blue version to CHF 68,900 for the 5N red gold with diamonds in the 45mm size. Check out the link below for all references, sizes and prices. There’s also a full sapphire version available, limited to just 25 pieces, yet no price has been communicated.
