The New Unimatic ModelLo Uno Prodiver Collection
Unimatic evolves its designs and delivers functional, purpose-built instruments, while retaining its modernist lines.

Unimatic is a relatively young yet popular Milan-based independent watchmaker with a loyal following. Thanks to its minimalist, military-inspired dive watches, the brand has attracted international attention through its own collections and various collaborations, most notably with Massena Lab, where archival design cues met Unimatic’s modern, utilitarian aesthetic. These projects have cemented Unimatic’s reputation as a brand that understands both the heritage and the evolution of professional timepieces.
The new Modello Uno Prodiver Collection represents the brand’s most technically advanced dive watches to date, a re-engineering of the Modello Uno platform for uncompromising performance. While the design language stays true to Unimatic’s no-nonsense approach, every detail has been refined with professional-grade functionality in mind.
Two models, the U1-PD3-B and U1-PD3-OR, share the same 316L stainless steel case, with its 300m water-resistance rating. Measuring 41.5mm across the bezel and 49mm lug-to-lug, with a thickness of 14.4mm (sapphire crystal included, or 13.2mm without it), the case features brushed surfaces and comes with a solid screw-down caseback and a fluted screw-down crown protected by guards. The 120-click unidirectional bezel houses a matte ceramic insert, featuring a fully graduated scale with Super-LumiNova markers at 5-minute intervals for optimal legibility while timing.
The Modello Uno Prodiver PD3-B opts for a matte black dial with a matching bezel for a stealthy, mission-ready look, while the PD3-OR adopts a high-visibility International Orange dial, a classic colour for dive watches (despite being one of the first colours to disappear underwater…). Both dials feature oversized geometric markers (dots, bars at 3, 6, 9 and a triangle at 12) and broad hands, all treated with Super-LumiNova. The central seconds hand with a lollipop counterweight has a touch of lume, too. Power comes from the Seiko NH35A automatic calibre, known for its reliability and ease of maintenance, and beating at 21,600 vibrations/hour with a 41-hour power reserve.
At the top of the Modello Uno Prodiver line is a new flagship model, the U1S-T-PD6-B, Unimatic´s Grade 2 titanium diver with a depth rating of 600m. The 41.5mm sandblasted titanium case keeps weight to a minimum while maintaining exceptional strength, and at 14.4 mm thick, including the 3mm thick domed sapphire crystal, it offers more comfort than its steel counterparts as the case is 12.3mm crystal-excluded. The bezel construction mirrors the steel models, with a matte black ceramic insert and lume for precise timing in the dark. The dial is a pure matte black with high-contrast luminous markers, ensuring maximum clarity when visibility is poor. An added feature is a date window at 6 o´clock, seemingly an odd choice, but it ups functionality. Inside is a Sellita SW200-1a automatic movement (a clone of the ETA 2824), operating at 28,800 vibrations/hour with a 41-hour power reserve.
All three Unimatic Modello Uno Prodiver models are delivered on a heavy-duty black nylon NATO strap, and each is produced in a limited run of 300 pieces, individually numbered, and presented in Unimatic’s signature case. Prices are EUR 750 (excl. VAT) for the stainless steel PD3 references and EUR 1,500 (excl. VAT) for the titanium PD6 reference. For more, visit unimaticwatches.com.

“Ambitious” pricing for watches housing a Seiko NH35A movement. So many micro-brands (not to mention AliExpres) have plenty of solid options for much less outlay. If Unimatic are your thing and you have the money to spare, then you’ll be happy, but I can’t help feeling there are much better options available for considerably less.
