The Champagne-Toned Shellman x Raymond Weil Millesime Centre Seconds
Customised to the Japanese retailer’s specifications, the neo-vintage Millesime dons an attractive golden two-tone sector dial.

Shellman is a renowned watch retailer in Tokyo, represented by independent brands and a curated selection of vintage watches. Over the years, Shellman has commissioned limited editions from refined Swiss brands like Habring and Andersen Genève. The latest collaboration is with Raymond Weil, and the watch selected by Shellman is the Millesime Centre Seconds, the brand’s charismatic vintage-inspired sector dial watch released last year. Tweaked to Shellman’s specifications with a visually thinner profile and a few changes on the dial, the limited edition Millesime comes across as the most retro member of this successful collection.
Although there are some notable evolutions on the dial side, Shellman’s take on the watch shares the same 39.5mm diameter and 9.25mm height as the regular production Millesime Centre Seconds, with its Calatrava-styled, coin-edge profile. That being said, the bezel has been slimmed down, giving the watch more visual thinness. The three-part stainless steel case displays a combination of finishings. The bezel features vertically brushed surfaces and a polished bevel, while the case flanks are brushed with polished surfaces on the lugs. A box-shaped sapphire crystal over the dial highlights the retro mood of the watch.
The more evident changes can be appreciated on the domed, golden champagne dial. Thanks to the different finishes, the dial acquires different tonalities and greater depth. Slightly sloping due to the domed centre, the seconds and minutes tracks are decorated with a circular-brushed finish, producing a darker shade of champagne.
In contrast to the peripheral tracks, the wider hour ring features a smooth satin finish, emanating a lighter, more golden tone. The double indices at noon have been exchanged for a Breguet-style Arabic numeral, and the markers at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock are textbook vintage with their bar-shaped profile. Finally, the centre of the dial features an embossed crosshair dividing the circle into four segments decorated with a vertical brushed finish, again producing a slightly darker golden tone.
The watch is powered by a no-frills Sellita SW 200 automatic movement with a customised W-shaped rotor. Visible on the caseback, this standard automatic has a 4Hz frequency and a power reserve of 41 hours.
To compound the vintage vibe, the watch is paired with a slightly distressed calfskin leather strap and a traditional pin buckle. The Millesime Shellman Edition is limited to 30 timepieces and is available exclusively at Shellman’s three stores in Tokyo. Although the watch can be seen in Shellman’s stores, the official launch date is March 1, 2025. The retail price is JPY 308,000 (incl.tax), the equivalent of EUR 1,915 at the time of publication.
