The New Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 29mm

The Big Crown Pointer Date has been a staple in the Oris collection since 1938 and is one of the most recognisable designs in Swiss watchmaking. For Geneva Watch Days 2026, Oris reimagines its signature model in a compact 29mm case, creating a more delicate and decorative expression for smaller wrists while carefully preserving the original’s essential codes.

The new multi-piece stainless steel case measures 29mm in diameter, 11.4mm thick and 35.5mm lug-to-lug. The characteristic fluted bezel and oversized crown remain, although the crown has been tapered for improved comfort and a more ornamental appearance. A domed sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating protects the dial, while the screwed caseback features a see-through mineral glass window. Water resistance is 50m.

The dial, available in black or rose-gold-coloured versions, combines a sunburst-finished central section with a grained outer surface. The date scale has been softened with a combination of dots and Arabic numerals, and the tip of the central Pointer Date hand is smaller. Skeletonised hour and minutes hands add a bit of sophistication.

The watch is powered by the automatic Oris Calibre 534 (Sellita SW 221-1 base), measuring 25.6mm and operating at 28,800vph. It provides a 42-hour power reserve and drives central hours, minutes and seconds, together with the instantaneous date indication, date corrector, fine timing device and stop-seconds function.

The new Big Crown Pointer Date 29.00mm is offered with either a leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet closed with a butterfly folding clasp.
