As Orient Star marks its 75th Anniversary in 2026, the brand continues to look upward, quite literally, for inspiration. The new M34 F8 Date 75th Anniversary Limited Edition is the first Orient Star to feature a meteorite dial, even though the brand has long used the cosmos, star clusters and celestial phenomena for poetic explanations: the Contemporary Collection M34 is named after the Perseus star cluster, known for its annual Perseid meteor shower.

Following recent releases we’ve covered, including the updated Bambino models and the refined Classic lines, this new M34 F8 Date Anniversary edition celebrates decades of refining in-house movements, signature designs such as the power reserve indicator at 12, and a distinctly Japanese balance of quality and value.

The iron meteorite dial, without question, is the headline. The naturally occurring Widmanstätten pattern, a crystalline lattice formed as the meteorite cools over millions of years in space, is impossible to replicate artificially. Orient Star applies a silver vapour-deposited anti-corrosion coating to the dial, preserving the structure while giving it a grey-silver tone. No two dials are alike, ensuring genuine individuality across the 255-piece limited run. To make sure the meteorite’s depth and geometry appear especially striking, Orient applied anti-reflective SAR coating on both sides of the dual-curved sapphire crystal, which protects it. A date display at 3 o´clock and Orient Star’s signature power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock adds practical daily functionality. The Roman numeral at 12, the hour markers, and the hands contribute to the monochromatic look while contrasting well enough for easy time reading.

The dial’s cool metallic texture pairs neatly with the 40mm stainless steel case. At 12.9mm thick, the watch has presence without excess, and the stainless steel bracelet reinforces its modern character. The sapphire caseback is engraved with the 75th Anniversary and individual serial number. Water-resistance is 100m.

The watch is powered by the latest in-house automatic calibre F8N64, visible through the display caseback. Notably, the movement features a silicon escape wheel; it operates at 21,600 vibrations/hour and offers a 60-hour power reserve. The stated accuracy is +15 to -5 seconds per day.

Limited, technically relevant, and materially distinctive, the M34 F8 Date Meteorite is priced at EUR 3,250, which is understandably slightly higher than the regular M34 F8 Date editions. For more information, please visit Orient-Watch.com.
