The Noctograph by Massena LAB and Raúl Pagès
The NYC-based design studio and Swiss indie watchmaker are back for their third collaborative watch.

Founded in 2018 by industry veteran William Massena, design studio Massena LAB has grown rapidly to become a burgeoning project with more than one string to its bow, ranging from accessible watches with Unimatic to high-end timepieces conceived with independent watchmakers. In the latter category, Massena LAB has worked already twice with talented watchmaker Raúl Pagès, and today unveils the third chapter to their collaborative book, the Noctograph.
The Noctograph marks the third time the two men work together and is launched after the stunningly beautiful RP2 of Raúl Pagès. It all started in 2022 with the Magraph, followed in 2024 by the Absinthe. The new Noctograph is a visual evolution based on the same technical base as these two previous editions, sharing the case and, mostly, the same movement – the part where Pagès is involved. Indeed, while not engaged directly in the production or decoration of the movement as he would in the creation of his own timepieces, Raúl Pagès helped creating the movement in this watch, defined the style and decoration, and now oversees and directs the production of this calibre, thanks to a select group of Swiss suppliers (including AMT Manufacture for the base movement). The movement even includes the poinçon Pagès, a stamp of approval in the shape of a tortoise, recalling his much celebrated automaton.
The Noctograph by Massena LAB and Raúl Pagès thus relies on the same case as the Magraph and the Absinthe, measuring a fairly compact and elegant 38.5mm in diameter, with a reasonable thickness of 10mm. Classic for Massena, the steel case is inspired by the past, with classic Calatrava style, polished top surfaces and satin-brushed flanks. Sapphire crystals are used top and bottom.
Marking a certain continuity with Raúl Pagès’ acclaimed RP2 watch, the Noctograph plays on minimalism but mixed with vintage cues. The dial is built around a central plate, vertically brushed, with a shade of blue that changes colour according to the light, ranging from slate to petrol or deep midnight. And like the RP2, there’s a ghost signature at 4 o’clock, but here engraved Massena. Surrounding this central part is a bright chapter ring plated with rhodium and radially brushed. This outer section is marked with a fine, black railroad track showing the hours and minutes. A recessed small seconds sits at 6 o’clock and time is indicated by steel leaf-shaped hands.
Powering the Noctograph by Massena LAB and Raúl Pagès is the caliber M660, a manual-winding, Swiss-made movement with a power reserve of 60 hours. Based on an AMT Manufacture architecture, this large movement has been hand finished according to Pagès’ requirements, with large Geneva stripes, thin perlage as well as hand-chamfered plates and bridges. The watch is worn on a dove grey leather strap closed by a steel pin buckle.
A limited edition of 99 pieces, the Noctograph is available as of now, exclusively from on massenalab.com. It is priced at USD 8,875.

Trust William Massena’s lab to bring us yet another sector dial. Who would’ve thought? 😏
I love the way they integrated that very modern blue dial with the very classic sectors
